I am in support of leaders like Mamdani.
Mamdani: I am in support of abolishing ICE… I'm tired of waking up every day and seeing a new image of someone being dragged out of a car, dragged out of their home, dragged out of their life.
Why the "Mamdani Formula" of politics is beyond most elected Dems simply astounds me. It is so simple.
1-Have a "North Star" (aka a set of principles)
2-Have an overt love of public service
3-Use intelligence, empathy & compassion to identify & address issues.
4-Apply #1-#3 in all situations
Isn’t that the “Obama Formula” as well?
Yes. Ideally, it is the "Democracy Formula."
I use Mamdami to illustrate this point because he's current. Many seem to have no sense that he represents principles of America at its best.
(Sadly, many young voters may not remember Obama & much of what they do hear abt him today is tainted)
As a European, I remember Obama as the last person in charge of the USA we really had faith in and who was an example, an ideal we believed in. Mamdani is so as well, but has - of course - very less media coverage her.

First, as an American, let me apologize for this nonsense. While America has done lots of awful things during my lifetime, they all pale in comparison to Trump.
American apathy & extremism resulted in Trump 2.0 & we need to deal w/ it. Minneapolis, Chicago, Portland & Los Angeles are pushing back.
We are so hoping for a big people driven regime change to win back the trust. We need the democrats to have an appealing own story, we need the common sense republicans to rebuke the Trump bullshit.
