- The blue razz lemonade elf bar looking at me from the corner of my room
- Update
- Any Metronomy fans free next Monday
- An intense day, but Team Sloane Square (me and @marshalltisdale.bsky.social ) eeked out an 11th hour victory over Team Loughborough Junction ( @tijgerstreep.bsky.social and @ikisnick.bsky.social )
- They were this close to finding us
- It begins
- Week from hell appears to be over - finally signed to keep my current place after a very stressful amount of to and fro, mixed messages, and the (in my opinion) pretty dodgy activities of my outgoing letting agency.
- Still processing my thoughts but Eddington may actually be my least favourite film of 2025 so far
- The electoral commission has active applications from both ‘The Left Party’ and ‘Your Party’, which strongly implies that one or both of them are a result of people stealing the name before Sultana + Corbyn can register, which is sorta what happens when you announce a party and then do nothing
- Giving into my base instincts and getting mildly back into wargaming (Necromunda), I understand if you no longer want to sleep with me but I’m living my truth x
- Need to put his head on but generally happy with the paint scheme
- Someone broke into my car last night, presumably looking for valuables, and I’m honestly lowkey offended that they didn’t steal ANY of the vinyls that I was temporarily storing in the boot. Reflects very poorly on the musical taste of the would-be thief
- Reading about horrors beyond my comprehension :3
- ‘Not so fucking easy, is it??’
- A shame that it’s off to such a rocky start because there is a *version* (please don’t turn into the Workers Party of Britain 2.0) of this party I would protest vote for against Labour
- Ordered the Jet Lag the Game card game in mid April and still no update on shipping or delivery dates :((
- Finally finished The Expanse book series (via audiobook and a solid couple of years of trips in car) and when I say it is one of the best sci-fi franchises ever written I am being *deadly serious* If you even slightly enjoy sci-fi as a genre to need to read them immediately.
- Not to wax too lyrical but it’s a fantastic piece of ‘hard sci-fi’ that approximates a lot of genuine science and physics (with some exaggerations) but that still feels generally grounded. Blends relatable social/political tensions with some more ‘out there’ space stuff in a very compelling way too.
- TL;DR it’s game of thrones in space but the authors actually finished this series (twice! They wrote an extra trilogy set 30 years after the main 6 books just for shits and giggles)
- Going to sample some global radio stations to use as background music whilst I work using radio garden + VPN. Taking recommendations for random places around the world for me to check out the local radio.
- They are currently playing some extremely dope bluegrass in Kotor, Montenegro
- Suzhou radio currently my favourite for playing some great orchestral ballads, though the early 2000s upbeat pop featuring on Yangoon radio (Myanmar) has a certain appeal
- Radio Ribeira Brava (Cape Verde) now clearly the favourite by lightyears
- Tangent but this post from Yusuf led me down a rabbit hole of googling the new Reform UK leader of Kent County Council, Linden Kemkaran, and finding out she is formerly a writer of incredibly twee middle class Spectator articles.
- Reform UK council leader is accidentally pro HRT
- Taking psychic damage from realising that my Bluesky bio still said I was 23 and having to update it
- Interested to see how long it takes for the unvetted basement-dwelling incels that Reform hire to look over the council finances to realise that councils have no money and that cutting the complimentary custard creams budget doesn’t compare to the cash spent on statutory social care obligations
- The fact that any council leader would sign off on this is a sign of how little they understand about the thing they’re supposedly running. It’s not even like the REAL purpose of DOGE (reactionary smokescreen to purge undesirables and progressivism) actually really works on a council level
- Do any computer-y or techy people know roughly what kind of price range there is for a mid level gaming pc off the shelf? Nothing too fancy just something that is beefy enough to run most things on decent graphics? (I know it’s cheaper to build your own but I do not know how to do that)
- The more planning revision I do for my exam next week the more my hatred for David Cameron grows beyond what I thought possible
- The only good things he really does in planning terms are kickstarting English devolution (but guts local government to the extent they can’t do anything) and creating the NPPF (which is too vague to really be called a national spatial plan beyond loose guidelines)
- Have become extremely regional strategic planning pilled and it sucks to see Cameron go even harder than, like, Thatcher in removing any trace of regional strategy in England
- Also sorry gang but I’m becoming slightly less zoning pilled (at least full-on zoning). It would streamline a lot of stuff but it needs to be super duper fucking rules based and not just a means of ceding total control of the built environment to the private sector
- Congratulations to Cllr Donna Edmunds who was technically a Reform councillor for less than one working day
- Okay I like Albo but I really don’t think he should be crushing any seals 🫤🫤🫤
- Found Morgan McSweeney’s private Twitter account
- Okay so server hosting with mods costs more money than I thought and I’m not smart enough nor is my pc beefy enough to host for myself, computer people please advise
