i've noticed some heated rivalry fanfic writers interpreting
shane's diet as no-carb/low-carb, and I wish I could inform them that he's undoubtedly eating A TON of carbs, just as whole grains like rice or barley or whatever. he probably burns like 5000 calories per day.
he's on a macrobiotic performance diet and while he's clearly at the nathan mackinnon food neurosis end of the scale, that's not the same as cutting carbs or attempting to reduce caloric intake. it's all about balancing proteins with veg and complex carbs for slow release energy.
