We could vote for the parties we actually wanted." Wouldn't that be nice? To vote with hope, not fear?
- This is going to be presented as 'one bad apple', but this particular bad apple has been discarded at least twice before. One of the things 'Epstein' has laid bare is an desperate institutional corruption in politics everywhere, people who believe themselves above the rules. It's an Augean stable.
- This Mandelson story just keeps on giving: 🔥 PM says "he's let his country down" 🔥 No10 now working on law to strip him of peerage 🔥 Cabinet Office hands docs to police suggesting "market sensitive info" was leaked NB: It's only Tuesday www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/starme...

- Tonight, for us at Celtic Connections. The world weary Lucinda Williams at the world weary Pavilion Theatre. Looking forward to it. Should be great.
- Lucinda standing for one hour fifty and rocking it out while showing scant regard for her stroke a couple of years ago. Finished with a rousing 'Keep on Rockin' In The Free World' that had all of us on our feet. The band on top form. When is it any different?

It is a measure of 'ventilation', deep vertical overturning of the ocean. Data show this process is slowing: #AMOC slowdown. Bad news. 🌊 www.geomar.de/en/news/arti...
- This is gutting.
- Some heartbreaking news coming out of Glasgow. The CCA has gone into liquidation and will close with immediate effect. Full story here www.theskinny.co.uk/art/news/gla...
- On the basis that I frequently tell folk about things that I like in case they'll like them too, a wee shout for Mickey Bradley's show on BBC Sounds. Plays great records and unlike some other DJs from bands isn't always banging on about himself being mates with this or that famous one. Give it a go.

- About to start out on this, the 3rd signed copy of a book by @graemethomson.bsky.social to arrive at the house in the last couple of years. The brilliant Small Hours remains with me while the biography of Kate Bush was a gift to daughter no. 2 on the condition that I get a read at some point.😄 '
