- Rodneyse Bichotte is a straight up joker. Unserious person.
- Because of a whole host of very obvious outside forces, Hochul is going to sleepwalk to reelection, but this is just political dreck. bsky.app/profile/spec...
- Gov. Kathy Hochul has selected former New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams as her running mate, creating New York's first all-female ticket. Read more: specne.ws/GCjLcr
- On the other hand, Lieutenant Governor is a functionally useless position, and Adrienne Adams will be just shy of 70 if Hochul opts not to run again in 2030 so this probably doesn't matter all that much.
- Bruce Blakeman is probably going to pick the re-anminated corpse of Hermann Göring to run for GOP Lt. Gov, and this is is going to be the last time we spend more than 1-2 seconds thinking about the Lieutenant Governor.
- Based Julie Menin. So nice having a City Council speaker who believes in NYC after four years of Adrienne Adams.
- Fixing this inane outdoor dining "compromise" is the lowest of low hanging fruits, and it's very pro-business. Considering how expensive operating restaurants - which are huge drivers of employment and tax revenue for NYC - has become, this is something City Council should have fixed 2 years ago.
- Every now and then, I think about the bad-faith complainers on Twitter (hi, Stu Waldman) who swore up and down they didn't want private business getting parking spots and would support parklets instead. Unsurprisingly, they never supported parklets or public seating. Just NIMBYism all the way down.
- She's an interesting figure because while she's not an Abundance/YIMBY type, she's not a NIMBY either, and she has a keen understanding of the businesses that power NYC's economy. She's a pro-business urbanist neo-liberal Democrat, which is totally fine for the job she has. bsky.app/profile/adam...
- Take note of all the politicians like Bob Holden who have spent years, if not decades, protesting every homeless shelter proposed now concern-trolling over unsafe conditions for unhoused people living on the streets through this cold spell. It's not genuine. It's disgusting hypocrisy.
- Absolute scum. And I believe these images are AI.
- This really bothers me. The whole discourse around homelessness really bothers me, but this inability from elected officials to see homeless New Yorkers as people who need help really gets at something deep within me. Holden should be deeply ashamed of himself.
- So Bob Holden was either in on this stunt or just a total moron. He hasn't issued any sort of follow-up acknowledging this. bsky.app/profile/octo...
- As a point of comparison, during the last Trump midterms, Cuomo beat Malinaro by 23 points.
- I am at a loss to understand why GDC isn’t suing over Gateway and why the MTA isn’t suing over 2nd Ave. yet. They still seem to think they can negotiate with or placate the lunatics in the White House.
- 🫡 🫡 🫡
- Ok Senator Cosplaying Redneck, can we stop sending you tax money? Tourists ain’t lining up to go to Oklahoma these days so I’m sure the country will be just fine if no one can fly here.
- Mullin’s statements are probably too stupid for the airlines to bless with a statement, but the airlines should put out a statement calling this out for being as moronic as it is.
- Loud heavy long sigh. This has it all: Bashing his own successful policy Making up numbers about fare evasion Complaining that the MTA isn’t doing something it’s currently doing. This tedious asshole nearly became mayor. x.com/77wabcradio/...
- Too Boomer brained to take credit for his own policy success because agreeing with people who call into complain about life on the radio strokes his ego. What a loser to the bitter end.
- The hahaha funny joke is that, on its own, congestion pricing is still much cheaper than a round trip train ride from Westchester. It's not anyone's else fault you also have to pay someone in NYC to store your inefficient polluting 2-ton piece of metal while it sits doing nothing most of the day.
- It does seem as if most of the actual garbage has now been picked up with just recycling bags sitting out, and the crosswalks in Prospect Heights and Crown Heights have been cleared enough.
- Is anyone planning on picking up the trash around NYC any time soon or what exactly is Sanitation doing? Both the snow and stinking mounds of garbage are all over the place.
- This is from Friday. No crosswalks near me have been cleared by Sanitation and trash is everywhere. I realize the deep cold makes snow removal tough. But let’s pick up the trash first and then do crosswalks instead of coddling drivers and their cars maybe?
