- Okay, last post here. Isn't it odd how there's no clamour to bring Labour's most successful elected representative, Sir Sadiq Khan, back into Parliament to be leader?
- (Obviously he clearly has no interest and just wants to continue to be a successful and popular Mayor)
- We should make Stephen Kinnock for Leader a thing. As a bit.
- Al Cairns? Some of you don't remember Dan Jarvis, and it shows.
- This may be unfair, as Cairns does have a good rep as a minister. Something Jarvis did not have.
- There's some hedging going on here. There's going to be more revelations, aren't there?
- None of the front runners - such as they are - want the job before May. Which seems foolish to me because by then things may be completely irredeemable.
- Yet again, Andrew Burnham only has himself to blame for not getting himself a seat in 2024.
- Anyway, if you want to be a Labour Prime Minister and do some good in your political life, it's probably now or never for a whole generation of Ministers. Three years is still quite a long time.
- 'This one clever idea will mean I don't have to do any politics' - Keir Starmer, circa. 2024-25.
- High likelihood, however, that Starmer is the one both holding the sun and smiling.
- This is fatal, isn't it? Either this slowly festers and drags down any remote chance of Labour repairing its public image, or Starmer resigns directly because of this. This government is dead in the water either way.
- The implied reason for appointing Mandelson as Ambassador was literally 'He knows all these people and how to deal with them' ffs.
- It's really cool and fun that this statement could be about a dozen or so issues.
