Chelsea G. Summers
I like to write about terrible men, horrible things, and unlikeable women. Somehow my book is a bestseller. Repped by Kent D. Wolf at Neon Literary.
- This is one big reason why I subscribe to 404 Media. Gut punch of an article.
- What its journalists do—accountability journalism about the rich and powerful—does not serve someone who is rich and powerful. The Washington Post and many of its reporters are no longer useful to Bezos, and so he has decided to get rid of them. @jasonleopold.bsky.social gets into it:
- This video by one of my favorite fashion content makers is sublime. Haiti! Mongolia! Wow:
- I'm sorry but I'm still having a hard time mentally cruising past this factual scenario: billionaire nerd buys newspaper; $nerd lets newspaper cook; subscriptions soar; $nerd is spooked by pandemic activism; $nerd clings to authoritarian; subscriptions tank; $nerd gets richer; $nerd kills newspaper.
- Bezos has made obscene money off of people buying their toilet paper from Amazon because there are no longer local alternatives. He could put WashPo at the tippy top of journalism, but he doesn't want that. He wants fascism. Fascism is really, really good for billionaires.
- All I'm saying is that the French thought it was the height of style.
- oh nothing, just motivated by my existential panic to double check that I already pay for a subscription to @maris.bsky.social's book newsletter, hbu?
- It's really hard not to feel existential despair.
- RIP WashPo books. It was really fucking important while it lasted.
- Gaiman is a bad, bad person who has done creepy, manipulative things to people I know and much worse to people I don't.
- I love this for us. (The top five blocked in the last 24 hours showing Neil Gaiman in first place.)
- Chotiner does not hide the bodies.
- The surgical precision is breathtaking.
