- Actually, my work is almost entirely about how prison populations rose even as violence FELL. I do say that how we DEAL WITH violence drives prison pops more than the war on drugs. Because empirically it does. But if you’re gonna criticize my work, at least criticize what I said. Also, what?
- This is a good point, and only emphasizes that how those who resist Trump report RIGHT NOW on threats he and his supports make to election integrity matters. These threats work by being spread, creating a fear they cannot back up. DO NOT DO THEIR WORK FOR THEM.
- Look, if they do this, it's bad. But also, the math doesn't entire math for me. Cook County alone has ~3,000 voting precincts, and some must have multiple polling stations. There are ~4,000 armed ICE agents in US. More CBP (who are lumped in w this, prob). But even if we get to 20,000 armed ppl?
- 🚨BREAKING: Steve Bannon said Tuesday that the federal government is planning to send Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to patrol polling stations during this year’s midterm elections. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
- I know the argument is that they just need to target select polling stations in select competitive seats, and their capacity increases for that. But I also think a lot of the competitive seats (like Lawler in upstate's NY-17) aren't the sort diverse urban places ICE best justifies its presence.
- Omg. When I was in law school, it was easier to land a job at an elitemost law firm right after graduating than it was to get one as an AUSA. Now they’re begging to get DMs to fill open slots. Their capacity is gutted. And they’re facing a legal system that is turning more and more against them.
