- Don't argue on social media anymore. Post your thoughts and walk away. When you argue and debate on social media it makes these people feel important because the platform is designed to increase dopamine levels regardless of the content.
- When they see you replied, they get a sudden rush of excitement because then they have a chance to respond. Deny them that dopamine hit. Ghost them. If it's close family and friends, DM or text them away from the public/semi-public content. They're more likely to engage civilly and actively listen.
- I learned this lesson in 2016 and forgot it over the weekend. Now get up off the mat.
- Don't let people gaslight you. Don't let them make you second guess what you're seeing right now. Don't do it to yourself. You're seeing what you are seeing and it is real. It's been real since 2016.
- It was real the last time they put kids in cages. It was real when we watched the murder of George Floyd as he died in agony on camera. It was real when white nationalists matched chanting "Jews will not replace us." It was real when Heather Heyer was murdered in Charlottesville.
- It was real when Renee Good was murdered in Minnesota. It's as real now as it was then. This shit is fucked up and the people who are doing it need to be stopped. It's a moral imperative that we speak out against this and do what we can in our own worlds to resist it.

After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

- Wow I did not expect my post about the federal layoffs to take off like it has. Thanks to everyone who reposted it. And hello to everyone who started following. Let me introduce myself. I'm a disabled veteran and father of three. I used to be an adjunct English Professor until we had more kids.
- I took a job with the Federal government to support our growing family while maintaining my values of service. I will not go into details about my position or agency because I need to be careful about what I post on social media. That being said, I will also not be silent.
- Everything I'll post should be interpreted as my own individual viewpoint and a matter of public concern. I will exercise my first amendment rights to the fullest extent allowed by my position.
