- Institutional moves for fusion in the U.S. today. 🇺🇸 The U.S. Department of Energy announced the creation of a new, dedicated "Office of Fusion." This shift has been a long-standing FIA priority, and we’re encouraged to see DOE take this step to streamline and elevate fusion programming.
- As part of the reorganization, DOE has also established the "Office of Artificial Intelligence and Quantum (AIQ)" - with both offices now housed under the Under Secretary for Science.
- Fusion, AI, and Quantum have been identified as top science priorities for the Administration and highlighted in the Administration's FY27 budget priorities. The reorganization reaffirms the prioritization.
