- Ok, I gotta spill some (inconsequential) tea right now. I just finished reading a GOD AWFUL, TERRIBLE, HORRENDOUS self-published novel 🙃 An acquaintance had his book launch so I supported him and bought a copy. My lord….
- Characters were not fully fleshed out. Plot? What plot? (There were like 5 and none of them fit together very well). The writing itself was terrible and he obviously didn’t have a beta or editor or copy editor. I struggled through it just to see if it got better…it didn’t.
- To all #OFMD fanfic writers: if I ever left a comment or kudos on your fic, know that you are a MUCH better writer than this over-confident (and egotistical) guy who clearly didn’t have an honest friend to give him some tough feedback.
- That is probably mean but I won’t put his name or book on blast. All I could think of was “I could be reading fanfic right now” 😂 also if you’re wondering if you can write that original novel—yes, yes you can! And I’d be happy to beta for you because I’m sure it will be better than that 🗑️
