- My appointments with gynecologists have seen these doctors writing out prescriptions for medications costing hundreds of $$ while, in the next breath, they disclose, "We don't know if this will be the thing that helps you, we don't know enough." It's 2026. Not good enough. #ActuallyAutistic
- I've been making posts about the intersections of autism and PMDD, and of autism and menopause, on this site for almost a year now. My symptoms are no different now than when I began to report them at the GP level and I'm beginning to put together the following statement. #ActuallyAutistic
- The most disheartening experience I've had thus far was when a gynecologist agreed with a plan of inducing medical menopause based on my symptoms... ...only to have to follow that with the fact that current legislation would not allow her to sign off on it. #ActuallyAutistic
- I just... I don't even. I still have no idea what to do with that. And I have no idea how to get the cogs that need to move to actually do so but, dammit, this is me getting off the internet and beginning to try.
- Loved Heated Rivalry, but your bookshop / library won't have the book available till, like, February? Don't worry, fam. I gotcha covered. Check out these assorted ✨ queer 🏈 sports 🎾 romances ⚽ while you wait! 👇👇

- 2026 seems like it's setting up to be my very own Dracula Era and I am here for it!
- First up, we will have the release for OF DREAD, DECAY, AND DOOM coming in mid-June, which my short story from Mina's PoV set two years after Lucy's death. Here's the first line: 7 October. — It has been some time indeed since I last felt it necessary to return and attend to this journal.
- Then, in July, I'll be presenting a paper about polyamory in Gothic Horror, featuring the brides of Dracula, for Romancing the Gothic that's run by @romgothsam.bsky.social! Couldn't be more excited actually.
- It's that time of year again! Looking back, I actually finished drafts of more than one piece. I have at least two story ideas I'm happy to go into the new year developing. I didn't necessarily work on what I expected to do this year, but fun was had. At the end of the day, isn't that the point?

- If the writer’s eyes light up when asked, “why did the character do that?” then it’s real.
- Me again. There is talk about how menopause absolutely shits on people with autism. The first study, a preliminary participatory study, on the effects of menopause on people with autism was published in 2020. This is what the authors had say of the situation: #ActuallyAutistic
- This passage comes from the article "'When My Autism Broke': A Qualitative Study Spotlighting Autistic Voices on Menopause" by Rachel L. Moseley, Tanya Druce, and Julie M. Turner-Cobb. I hardly know what to say. Finding this study feels bittersweet. 2020. That’s… so recent. #ActuallyAutistic
- The below passage perfectly encapsulates what I've been terming as having coming down with a "chronic illness" this past year and a bit. Also present in my own experience is the professional disinterest contrasted with my own proactive efforts to educate myself. #ActuallyAutistic #SpoonieLife
