- A single image of 31 Atlas, that interstellar comet everyone was talking about, on its way out again. I caught it very near a galaxy which I'm about 85% sure is IC 591. Because it was high in the sky and closer to Earth than last time, I was able to get a hint of tail. #Astronomy #Astrophotography
- Great picture. Would you mind sharing details such as instrument, camera, capture time, etc.? ThanksDec 29, 2025 13:03
- Stellarvue 152mm refractor. Nikon D810A camera. Astrophysics Mach2 tracking mount. I used the Horizons tool in the mount software. It lets you load a JPL ephemeris and track on the comet. This was taken at about 5:30 a.m. Pacific time, a single 2-minute exposure. I believe the ISO was 1250.
