- Steadily working my way through Divine Divinity and it reminds me a lot of Sacred. Increasingly curious if Larian will return to this weird combo of ARPG and CRPG with the new game or stick to the turn-based combat that's been so successful for them with OS and BG3.
- Would have loved to see it top the list but incredible to see it get as high as it did

- 'Wonder Man...good??' not on my bingo card for this year tbh
- Reposted by Fergus HallidayYou cannot overstate how startling it is to see a politician just say the thing with clarity and poise. No fearful hemming. No overwrought qualifying down til it’s meaningless. No lingering sense that there is a loyalty to a donor class or an ideology of stasis that they’d never admit to.

- Still thinking about the finale of TBT. Honestly, if they want to get more people in theaters to see it, they should maybe post *that scene* on socials sooner rather than later.
- My other big thought watching TBT was that when I was younger, my esteem of most movies was weighted towards the sharpness of their dialogue and what they convey via their script vesus nowadays I am so much more prone to be moved by the awesome power of imagery alone.

- It is so funny that they greenlit a trilogy of legacy sequels to 28 Days Later off the back of Cillian Murphy's Oppenheimer hype and have now made not one but two of the best zombie movies I've ever seen

- Got the chance to write a TV review for the first time in ages! TLDR; The Dunk & Egg show doesn't outstay its welcome and is a real treat. Special shoutout to everybody's new Baratheon, a terrific score and a return to shooting in Northern Ireland: www.whistleout.com.au/PayTV/Review...

- The Star Wars crowd does talk about Kennedy being replaced every other week but if this is true it's going to be *incredible* when that Mando movie flops.
- My contribution to this discourse is that imo 'good' endings release you from the story being told and there's just not as much to say about that because you are now Free to move on with your life.
- As opposed to a bad ending, which lives rent free in your mind forever because how could they possibly beef it that badly, etc.

- Some notes about the pacing and use of invisible walls but otherwise really enjoying Black Myth Wukong. It's definitely Souls adjacent but distinct enough in ways that are very easy to have fun with.
- Somehow made it all the way to the end of Chapter 4 without realising I could upgrade armour/gourds, make medicines or unlock additional curio slots.

- I can't remember if the first game was this way but there's a surprising amount of Borderlands 1 in The Outer Worlds 2 in terms of the broader zone and quest structures.
- Finished this one yesterday. I think it's pretty good as a more polished take on what the first game was trying to do. Second wave of companions way better than the first. Would love to see them do more systemic stuff rather than go bigger if they did a third one.
- Outer Worlds 3 with bigger maps is much less interesting than Outer Worlds 3 with more sandboxy interactions in maps that are just as big to me.
- For all the umming and ahhing that Cameron is doing about Avatar 4 and 5, I do think those movies will happen because even with diminishing returns it seems way more likely that Disney will greenlight more Avatar before throwing anything original into its end of year blockbuster slot.
- To say nothing of where Marvel is at or the apparent inability to make new Star Wars movies...
- Very torn between finally starting that second playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3 or going back and working my way through the Divinity series ahead of that new one, which I have never given a proper look.

- Been a few years but wow Knives Out is really good. I totally forgot how much Christopher Plummer was in this movie.
- The steady creep of IP onto everything is bad but also a Warcraft or Warhammer-flavored take on Songs of Silence would rip actually

- I heard someone compare GRRM to Stephen King on a podcast the other day and I can't stop thinking about the implications of reading Westeros as a deeply American take on traditional fantasy.
- Apologies if this is a very basic take, I've always defaulted to reading ASOIAF as a critique of romanticism and the genre of fantasy more broadly.
