- This is a fascinating article & I love the toggle feature between the translated & original direct quotes.
- Deep in the woods near Grenner is magical realm nexus point known as the tangle. Good luck getting to and from it, though. There are no clear trails & the space messes with human senses. Your best bet is to be on good terms with an imp who has an eye or 2 in it to teleport you in & out. #Septopolis
- #Septopolis 6 The world is beautiful, and that probably goes for yours too. There's surely places even in the most grimdark of settings that could be considered wonders. Tell us about the natural wonders that exist nearby. ✨ #WritingCommunity #Writesky
- Grenner is located along a river & close to a magical forest. I'm still deciding how the forest impacts the local economy (& ecosystem, including the river). It's a nexus point for many different realms, so I'm thinking the flora & fauna & game are "off" in unsettling ways. (1/2) #Septopolis
- #Septopolis 5 Yesterday jumped this ahead for some (oops 😅), so consider this from the view of the place's early history: Permanent settlements usually get built around a natural resource. What's plentiful here to make it happen? Fertile land, fresh water, minerals? #WritingCommunity #Writesky
- Though not inedible ways & probably not "off" to Grenner natives, who have grown up in the environment & only have the word of newcomers that something from the forest (& likely the river) is "weird". (I'm sure there's opportunity for some interesting speciality exports.) #Septpolis
- This is a fun one (they're all fun)! Grenner is a rural city on a peninsula loosely based on Washington State's Olympic Peninsula: temperate rainforests, lots of rain & wind during the fall/winter/spring s(l)og. Grenner is near a magical forest that makes it a popular city for practitioners. (1/2)
- #Septopolis 4 Let's get to the "city-builder" stuff. Where is this getting put on your world? Will or did this impact design choices for features like architecture, available resources, or culture? Or is there a reason that won't matter (like tech or magic: day 13)? 👀 #WritingCommunity #Writesky
- So even though it's isolated & hard to travel to, they're used to academics & explores coming in to study/visit the forest & also used to rubbing elbows with a variety of magical creatures that isn't typical elsewhere. (2/2) #Septopolis
- Greener and the surrounding area is the MC's hometown and the story setting. (And because I can't resist, a character in its own right.) #Septopolis
- #Septopolis 2 You've gotta be building this place to do something, so what's it for? Is it meant to be your MC's hometown, evil lair, or some mandatory beach episode silliness for your or your players' characters? Or, perhaps, is it simply an exercise for yourself? #WritingCommunity #Writesky
- Hello #Septopolis folks! I'll be focusing on the setting for a percolating fantasy noir(ish) story set in a small city near a dark & foreboding magical forest that I'm hoping to flesh out to be less cliche this month!
- Welcome to #Septopolis, I hope you enjoy your stay. Let's start with some basics. To cover a wide range of settlement types, I've tried to phrase these prompts as generally as possible. With that: what will you be talking about to either share or build fresh? #WritingCommunity #Writesky

- The Algorithm(TM) has let me (willingly) fall into the junk journal/junk planner side of TikTok. I'm now eyeing all the really old hardbacks no used bookstore will take with aspirations likely beyond my current crafting abilities. But I have all the materials & some time! So time to get my craft on!
