- Went to the Amar Bari, Amar Jibon report launch at the Lords yesterday. Powerful reminder of how functional overcrowding affects older Bangladeshi communities - homes that look big enough on paper but don’t work for real family life, especially when generations want to live together.
- For Race Equality Week, it’s a call to fix the housing system to reflect how people actually live. And it reinforces why OTs have such an important role here - shaping environments that support meaningful, culturally grounded lives.
- Really looking forward to RCOT and Foundations Housing Without Delay guidance landing this summer. Thanks @housinglin.bsky.social @openuniversity.bsky.social and Bangla Housing Association for inviting us.
- Great reflections from Anita on the importance of OT in social care! www.adass.org.uk/beyond-adapt...
- There are over 3,800 OTs working in social care. Its so important their voice is heard as it develops proposals for long term reform of the sector. 👏
- Three occupational therapists represented the OT profession in evidence sessions for the Casey Commission on Social Care. FInd out more about the evidence sessions, our future plans and have your say in the Commission: loom.ly/uGfsqsI
- It was great to see Amy, Catherine and Anita representing the profession to the Casey Commission on social care this month. Over 3,800 OTs work in social care - its key that their voices are heard by the commission as it sets out plans for reform. www.rcot.co.uk/latest-news/...
- Prevention and care closer to home are central to the UK Government’s 10-Year Health Plan - and OT is key to making it happen. Over the next year, our message to govts across the UK is clear: timely OT support helps people stay well longer and prevents problems before they escalate. #RightTimeOT
