It's amazing to think that a typical US student entering college basically needs like 4 years of remedial mathematics just to reach the point of a student entering from basically any other education system.
I have an undergrad mathematics degree and other than a smattering of stuff in middle and high school from teachers who went out of their way I never got exposed to proofs till abstract algebra and advanced linear algebra; maybe a hit at the 300 level but mostly 400 level and above
