- treated myself to existential crisis ditto to cheer up
- he multiplies
- dreams shattered. feeling awful. i wish i had studied this instead of what i did originally when i left high school but the intense pressure to pick anything and get a degree before i even knew who i was was crushing. now trying to retrain in my 30s it seems impossible unless you have mad money
- i asked student support what others in my situation have done to study and keep working with a timetable that changes every week and she said 'i dunno, they never complain so i guess they all figured it out. we've never had this issue'. so now i also feel like a moron
- also got told to assume 'i'd be busy tuesday to friday' which they know i can't because i ENROLLED. PART TIME.

- universities are usability nightmares. i have no idea how i did this when i was 18
- i have no idea how i taught at one for two years
- so far: - have spent 2 months trying to enrol because i'm (the first??) part-time & no-one could handle it - paid $150 to have my previous Hons. credits reviewed so i don't have to do 'beginner' academic writing again. they still haven't reviewed it but invoiced me for the paper lol

View full threadi might have to withdraw because of this and that's devastating
- the competition is fierce but i think elon musk may be the most pathetic human ever to have lived on this planet
- unpopular take: school holiday length is still based around the concept of a nuclear family with a ft stay at home parent, especially in nz
- it's wild that kids finished primary mid dec and are still not back at school until the second week of feb??? again nz with the 'let's just pretend a quarter of the year doesn't exist'
- if you're a solo parent, how are you supposed to work?? unlikely you can afford childcare or holiday programs too, unless you're rich and a longer holiday is like 'oh neat another two weeks on the yacht'
- and before the argument 'don't have kids' is brought up, circumstances change either custodial or financial that then make your situation incompatible with us just deleting a quarter of the year
