- #hfxws a bit more accumulation than I expected for my way home from music but still a pleasant ride in a gentle snowfall. Might be a little messy in the morning.
- Probably won’t ever stop thinking about how the 2-3 Halifax councils before this one had the best chance to meaningfully change transportation here and did not.
- Did a little ride to get some beans from Espresso 46. #hfxws Isleville up and down pretty good. Some slush. Filter at Young got a pass at least. And it’s warm! Was able to give my bike a rinse when I got home.
- So nice to see friends today!
- It’s a dark and cold time in so many ways. Grateful for a little meetup and ride with the #BikeHfx community, who brought everything from homemade cookies and hot chocolate to hot dogs! Thanks to all who made this happen ❤️
- Couple updates to snowhfx.danp.net: Biggest is that if you click on a line/segment and its clearing deadline has passed, there's a "Report to 311" button that helps you craft an email with info. If you use this to report things please let me know how it goes!
- For #BikeHfx, I reworked the merging of datasets so things should be more accurate. The map now breaks down the bike routes by segment. For example this route that goes through Saunders Park is one bike route but is now broken out, with different priorities.
- If you spot anything weird let me know! It's pretty tricky to get all the data to agree.
- #hfxws report for my bike trip to the library and Local Source: Devonshire: ok/snowy, skipped southern end Barrington Gway: ok, slushy curb cuts Up Wat / Hollis: snowy patches, unusable bike intersection bits Uni: ok except Cohn Almon: ok, some snowy patches Isleville: maybe filter at Young plowed?
- I just did this! Prepared by practicing my NS inhaled “yup”s but that wasn’t really necessary
- #hfxws biked from north end via Isleville / Northwood / Creighton / Summer to IWK and things mostly ok. Took path alongside Summer to avoid car clog, seemed fine
- #hfxws biked to music along south part of Isleville, Bloomfield, and Agricola. Mostly ok, slushy, nothing seemed icy.
- Way home along Charles, Maynard, Fuller, Isleville to the north was decent too
- Which design best says “we’re not Europe?”

- Had been planning on walking to music tonight. But then I stubbed my toe big time earlier today. It hurts. Thanks to #hfxws reports I was able to ride my bike! #CyclingEasierThanWalking

- Almon between Agricola and Gottingen was one-way earlier. Routine underground work or an experiment to see if Almon could be one way for vehicles to make room for needed #bikehfx infra? (probably not the latter but should be)
- Yesterday was eastbound only, today is westbound. Changing up the experiment?!
