- Reposted by Cllr David WilcoxAs well as with target set by the citizens assembly. Showing that they don’t just have contempt for us, but for the people of Bristol as well.
- Reposted by Cllr David WilcoxTonight Labour voted with the Tories to block plans to deliver cleaner air, faster buses, safer cycling and nicer walking, and enabled future mass transit. It was the old Labour administration's idea in the first place! They care more about petty political pointscoring than what's good for Bristol.
- Reposted by Cllr David WilcoxBristol labour sunk to new depths tonight. Voting against or abstaining on three sustainable transport projects, that would improve air quality, improve bus times, a safe route for children to get to school, and even improve traffic. An absolute disgrace.
- Reposted by Cllr David WilcoxWith criminality this serious ending in death, what other crime would escape national news? This was only BBC local. What more must happen for a lifetime ban? - Reposted by Cllr David WilcoxNice to see that the progression artwork at Ashley Down station, designed by the Lockley’s neighbourhood trust, and members of the first Muslim Scout group, has Ben been replaced after it was vandalised. We’ve been working with officers to get this done as quickly as possible.
- Reposted by Cllr David WilcoxThe Charity Commission said Bristol councillor Abdul Malik's conduct ‘was damaging to trust and confidence’, but 'did not fully meet the legal test' to disqualify him from running charities. Full story here: www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol...
- Reposted by Cllr David WilcoxPolice leadership must do more to recognise this is core to our mission. Saving life, tackling crime, and increasing public confidence. We make our communities safer when we deny active criminals use of the road. Embed the ethos of ‘Not every driver is a criminal but every criminal is a driver’.

- Reposted by Cllr David WilcoxGreat work highlighting this @sianberry.bsky.social. I also fear tech platforms, including trading apps, have made cash transfers frictionless, allowing large sums to move instantly. For those with addictive or compulsive tendencies this is especially risky. I’m not convinced safeguards are adequate

- This is not part of the recent Road Safety Review. Why not @heidialexander.bsky.social ?
- This is real progress. Lives will be saved. Fewer young people will be left disabled. Roads will be safer. Tho why did it take so long to introduce this when the evidence is overwhelming? Why not roll it out UK-wide? It will happen eventually but delay has consequences. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

- Reposted by Cllr David WilcoxSigh. Ollie Glover’s Railway Bill amendments - for passenger growth targets and a rolling programme of electrification - were spot on (constructive, well informed, necessary), and transport minister Keir Mather’s response on rejecting them is terrible (meaningless, irrelevant, worrying)
- Reposted by Cllr David WilcoxVery bad news for all other road users in the UK, especially those on foot and on bikes.

- Reposted by Cllr David WilcoxStrava heatmap of Europe. Belgium, Holland and England lead. Two of these places have great infrastructure. How crazily bizarre is it that one of the top three cycling countries in Europe, is shit to cycle in. Imagine how easy drivers would have it, if England invested in cycle infrastructure.

- Reposted by Cllr David WilcoxIncredible focussed campaigning by @saveoursaferstreets.org made this win happen. 👏 But why has a community had to go through the stress of two court cases, when the Mayor of London could have used his powers to prevent the Mayor of Tower Hamlets making these unlawful changes in the first place?
- Court of Appeal just ruled Tower Hamlets DECISION to remove the Bethnal Green LTN is UNLAWFUL. Councils can't remove without going through proper process & getting Mayor of London's approval. This is a MASSIVE precedent for London. Years of work vindicated. #SaveOurSaferStreets #LTN
- Reposted by Cllr David WilcoxThis is significant news for schemes delivered across London in the last nine years. It means politicians can't simply 'rip out' LTNs and bike lanes they don't like.
