Mike McFall
State Representative serving Michigan's HD14 | Center Line, Hazel Park, Madison Heights, and part of Warren | Mental Health Advocate | Proud Michigander 🇺🇸| Dog Dad 🐾 | Husband 🏳️🌈
- Tonight! #HealthcareForAll
- Join me for a town hall as we discuss MiCare, a proposal to create a universal, publicly financed health care system in Michigan.
- As health care costs continue to be unaffordable for families across the state, this conversation is an important step towards ensuring access to affordable care for every Michigander.
- I’m always grateful for the chance to hear directly from constituents and I hope you can join us! Please contact my office if you have any questions at mikemcfall@house.mi.gov or (517) 373-0140
- I am happy to see the Attorney General confirm what many of us have been saying all along: the provision allowing one chamber to cancel these funds was unconstitutional. www.crainsdetroit.com/politics-pol...
- In our district alone, this includes $1 million already promised for Warren to make critical ADA-compliant park upgrades and a long-overdue new elevator at the Hazel Park District Library.
- Both projects are already underway, and without these funds, local communities would be stuck scrambling to cover these costs. That’s not right. When the state makes a commitment, our cities deserve certainty, not chaos.

- I’ve never been a fan of corporate welfare, but if the state is going to hand out taxpayer dollars, there must be strong guardrails.
- I’m proud to be part of a bipartisan bill package to crack down on secretive, taxpayer-funded corporate incentive deals. If companies want public dollars, they should face real transparency, real oversight, and real consequences when they don’t deliver.
- Taxpayers deserve to know where their money is going, and I’m done with backroom deals that don’t put Michigan communities first.
- I was honored to recognize Laura Shultz from Wilkinson Middle School in the Madison District Public Schools as December’s Teacher of the Month!
- Each month, my office selects a teacher from our State House district to spotlight the incredible work educators do every day. Our schools, our students, and our community are stronger thanks to dedicated teachers like Laura. Thank you for making such a difference in the lives of your students!
- I’m deeply disappointed by the court decision blocking Michigan’s ban on conversion therapy for minors. Medical experts agree, this practice is dangerous and has been linked to higher rates of depression and suicide among LGBTQ+ youth. www.freep.com/story/news/p...
- This fight isn’t over, and I’ll keep pushing to make sure Michigan stands on the side of science. This harmful practice has no place in our state.
- 42% of Michigan workers don’t have access to a retirement savings plan through their employer. That's why I reintroduced my bipartisan legislation to help more Michiganders save for retirement. www.candgnews.com/news/legisla...
- The MI Secure Retirement plan gives workers, especially at small businesses, a simple payroll deduction option, at no cost to employers or employees.
- Tonight marks the beginning of Hanukkah, a time centered on light, resilience, and family. As we celebrate, it’s impossible to ignore the rise in antisemitism we’re seeing across our country and here at home. Hate has no place in our communities.
- May this Festival of Lights remind us to stand together, choose peace, and look out for one another. Wishing everyone a meaningful and peaceful Hanukkah.
- I’m frustrated and deeply concerned that the Republican Speaker canceled $645 million in already-approved state grants this week, using an obscure loophole so neither the Senate nor the governor could block it. michiganadvance.com/2025/12/11/m...
- These weren’t abstract line items. This funding supports moms and babies, children with cancer, public safety, housing, local nonprofits, and community development — including projects right here in our own district.
- Some municipalities and organizations tell me they’d already signed contracts, placed special orders, paid deposits, or otherwise spent money expecting to be reimbursed from the funds the state had allocated and promised. Those groups are now scrambling and afraid they’ll be left holding the bill.
- I’ll keep fighting to get this money back and make sure our communities aren’t left paying for political games.
- Last night I had the privilege of attending the ICD - Islamic Center of Detroit's 25th Anniversary Gala. ICD has spent decades supporting families, empowering youth, providing food and resources to neighbors in need, and strengthening our broader community.
- It was great catching up with Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist and so many friends and fellow elected officials from across Metro Detroit who came out to honor this incredible milestone.
- Thank you to everyone at ICD for the invitation and for the compassion and commitment you bring to our region every single day. Here's to many more years of positive impact.
- "Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining." - Judge Judy Did your car insurance go down? Mine definitely did not. www.michiganpublic.org/politics-gov...
- I joined a number of my colleagues today to urge the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) to hold full public hearings on the proposed data center project in Saline Township.
- A project this big, the largest energy demand increase in Michigan’s history will have real impacts on residents and ratepayers, and people deserve honest answers and a chance to be heard. Michiganders shouldn’t be left in the dark on decisions that affect their communities and their energy bills.
- Today on World AIDS Day, I’m thinking about the Michiganders whose lives have been impacted by HIV. Almost 20,000 people in Michigan are living with HIV, and we continue to see new cases every year.
- That’s why I’m working on legislation to expand access to PrEP, a simple, effective tool that prevents HIV and saves lives. Let’s stand together to break stigma, expand access to prevention tools, and fight for a future free from HIV.
- Today is Shop Small Saturday, a chance for all of us to show some love to the small businesses that help boost our economy and strengthen our communities. Today, I joined the Madison Heights/Hazel Park Chamber to visit a few of our small businesses. Thank you to the Chamber for the invitation.
- Grateful for the entrepreneurs who pour their hearts into these shops. Let’s keep supporting them! #ShopSmall #SupportLocal

- I had a great time at the Hazel Park Tree Lighting tonight. It was wonderful to see such a big crowd come out to kick off the Christmas season together. 🎄
- Thank you to all the city employees who put in the hard work to make tonight’s event so special. The lights, the setup, everything looked fantastic. 🎅🎄✨
- I stopped by the Amazon Prime Air meet-and-greet at the Hazel Park Community Center tonight to hear more about their new drone delivery service coming to our area. I’d love to hear your thoughts. What are you excited about? What concerns do you have about drone delivery?
- Had a great time earlier today with Representative Helena Scott as we presented Tonya Wilson from Edison School with the November Teacher of the Month award!
- Each month, my office highlights a teacher from across our State House District, and Tonya stood out for the heart and dedication she pours into her students in the Hazel Park School District. Congratulations, Tonya! You make our community proud, and I’m grateful for everything you do.
- If someone feels the need to protect themselves, I support that, especially when it’s done with responsible gun safety in mind. We should all want a world where no one feels threatened because of who they are, but until then, feeling empowered and prepared matters. www.npr.org/2025/11/15/n...
- I am proud to sponsor a resolution in our Supporting and Protecting Michigan Veterans bill package. We cannot repay the debt of service – but we can strive to support, protect, and empower those who served.
- My resolution focuses on expanding access to mental health resources for veterans, because supporting their well-being is just as important as honoring their service. This legislation is a step in that direction.
- If you’re worried about your benefits, or need help finding local food support, please reach out. My office is here to help: (517) 373-0140 or MikeMcFall@house.mi.gov
- I’m partnering with the Madison Heights Food Pantry to host an emergency food drive to help our neighbors who won’t be receiving SNAP benefits this November. Many families will need extra support to put food on the table — please consider donating non-perishable food items to help those in need.
- Together, we can make sure no one in our community goes hungry.
