- What's good about Mormonism isn't unqiue. What's unique to Mormonism often isn't good. Many of the things I really loved about the church are things I've been able to find in other churches. (my funniest moment in post-mormondom feels like something thats probably too risky to tweet, sadly)
- I think mine has been @dotdotexe.dftba.social asking me, “wait, do we do Lent now?” and me saying, “…I think so? Maybe? Your grandfather’s talked about it before so probably?”
- (United) Methodists tend to be very ‘do something if you want to, but no pressure’ about it

- My late mother-in-law, a wonderful, faith-filled woman who taught UMC Sunday School for years, taught her kids that Lent meant "Let's Eliminate Negative Thinking" and that it's not about giving things up, but about trying to be better and closer to God. I always liked that framing.
