- There it is.
- New Beans on Toast album is good, and feels like much the kind of music we need to be hearing more of at a time like this. beansontoast.bandcamp.com/album/kill-t...
- Both Reform and Greens report that results from the doorstep suggest Labour is well behind both, in Gorton & Denton.
- This is a highly appropriate event to be taking place the day after Weird Pride Day
- Join us on 5 March for HUMANS | A Monstrous History: Historian @drsurekhadavies.bsky.social explores how apes, zombies, cyborgs and so-called “monsters” shaped modern ideas of race, gender, nations... and normality itself. In-person, 6pm to 8pm Drinks, book sale/signing afterwards buff.ly/eUi5BPO
- Infuriatingly, this is also true for the UK.
- I don't think it's possible to make sense of Labour at the present moment without realising that Mandelson played a major role in the secretive and pervasively dishonest project to destroy the Labour left and get Starmer elected as Labour leader. It's doubtful we'd have this government without him.
- It's probably not unreasonable to see his role behind the scenes around 2015-2019 as an extension of the job he had been appointed to under the previous Labour government, described by George Monbiot here. bsky.app/profile/geor...
- 1. In 2009 I wrote this. I argued that Peter Mandelson's department “functions as a fifth column within government, working for corporations to undermine democracy and the public interest.” This thread explains what I saw, and reaches a startling conclusion.🧵 www.monbiot.com/2009/05/04/m...
- Again, I'm uncomfortable with how much it sounds like a conspiracy theory when I describe what happened in the Labour Party in those years, but... I guess that's just because there was objectively something that could be described, really pretty accurately, as a conspiracy.😬 bsky.app/profile/ferg...

I guess on the bright side, we can look forward to a lurid motion picture based on all this in a decade or two.
- Anyone who thinks Starmer has good enough judgement to occupy high office must have been determinedly paying as little attention as possible.
- ...and even then, he was allowed to resign rather than being expelled.
- Every now and then I catch up with an old Slow Mo Guys video I hadn't seen before. This one of a wave pool with massive spike waves is great! It would be fascinating to see even without the extreme slomo, but it definitely adds something. And the rubber duckies! www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWKF...
- It's much, much too hard to remove a sitting MP.
