- It's that time of year... I'm on 10/20 and wondering how I can be such a bookworm, and yet still be reduced to tears by this ruddy game 😭

- Calling all Manchester folks! I'll be at this event in Levenshulme next month in my capacity as a writer on the You Are Here podcast project - come and join us on November 7th at Levy Old Library 🦜
- I grew up in a working class immigrant family in Bolton. My English degree led directly to a career in copywriting. I now work in a brilliant university team building websites to support health and medical research, and to recruit students who go on to work in the NHS and associated fields. (1/2)
- Without that degree, I wouldn't have got my creative writing MA a few years ago, and I wouldn't now be writing a novel about love, music and anti-racist activism in 1970s Britain. I wonder what it is about an accessible arts education for all that right-wingers don't like...? 🤔 (2/2)
- What I read in September. The standout was The Parallel Path for sure. A brilliant, thoughtful memoir! #booksky

- Reposted by Dipika MummeryToday is Paperback Book Day, commemorating the date that the first Penguin paperbacks were published, back in 1935. A lighter, less expensive form of book, the paperback helped to make pleasure reading (and book collecting!) accessible to a wider swathe of the public. #💙📚 #Booksky

- This is definitely where I'm at with my WIP - the first draft was a huge decades-spanning mess, and I'm now halfway through a second draft that takes place over 10 months! Great article for anyone worrying about taming the beast of a messy draft.

- I seem to be mainly dealing with all the crap going on at the moment by listening to birds singing their springtime songs. Here's who I heard on my way back from the dentist today (via the excellent Merlin Bird ID app from Cornell University).
