- Amazon has achieved a new depth in sucking. A year ago you'd search for something & sort by price low to high. Results showed sponsored items at top regardless of price, later items almost randomly ordered in terms of price. Searching Amazon in phone browser today, it gives no sorting option.
- Either they removed the possibility of sorting (because it sucked & was pointless anyway) or they've hidden it, which is a different kind of failure. Enshittification proceeds apace.
- I searched for AAA rechargeable batteries. They have 3 separate listings of a 12 pack of Amazon Basics brand with 3 different prices. Then a 16 pack that's cheaper than the 12 packs. Is this AI, or chicken feed scattered on a keyboard with a hen turned loose, to determine what order shit appears?
- I was given a Motorhead t-shirt and wore it before I had heard the band. Super poser/squid behavior, right? In my defense, 1. I was given the shirt bc my mom thought it looked cool. (Or thought I'd think it looked cool. It did.) 2. I wasn't even sure if they were a band or autoparts manufacturer.
- 3. I used to tape music from the radio. I had one I replayed often from WCBN (UMich) with a bunch of punk & weirdness, readings by Vonnegut, Burroughs, Firesign Theater, Monty Python, and Ace of Spades. I loved it but didn't know it was by Motorhead. I might have loved them before the t-shirt.
- My wife's old Kindle Fire 7 is unable to charge when plugged in. I understand what's wrong but can't fix it myself--the port has probably come loose from wiring inside, so plugging it in does nothing. Is it worth it to get it fixed somewhere or nearly the same cost as getting a new one?
- I think someone on bsky or other social media recently said they bought a Kindle Fire 8 for $60 or $70, the same price I paid for one a few* years ago. (Everything from roughly 2003-2025 feels like a few years ago to me.)
- 2008 take: Breaking Bad wouldn't have happened if Americans had universal healthcare. 2023 take: The feature film 65 starring Adam Driver as a pilot crash landing & surviving dinosaur attacks wouldn't have happened if his character's family had universal healthcare.
- Driver's character takes a risky 2 year long-range exploratory mission as a pilot to pay for treatment of daughter's illness.
- It's fun, little problems that I could overlook. But *spoilers* if they didn't show in title cards that these were non-earthlings landing on Earth 65 million years ago, would it have made any difference in the story or audience's enjoyment of it? Earthlings crash on a planet with dinos. Cool.

- I saw Frank Gorshin credited as the voice of Foghorn Leghorn & Yosemite Sam in some 90s Looney Tunes shorts directed by Chuck Jones. Is this the son of Riddler Frank Gorshin or some unrelated guy with same last name? Nope. The Frank Gorshin who was in dozens of movies & played Riddler did WB voices.
