- #thingsfolkloristsdo #folklore Went out to a community garden to do fieldwork. A gardener stabbed my nonfunctional sunblock spray with scissors so it exploded sunblock all over me and my partner - a last ditch effort to protect my already-burning self. He sent me home with a bag of beets.

- Had a moment last week where I realized if I could go through a divorce, Trump's presidency, and having no familial support while working, taking three graduate courses and still maintaining a 4.0 GPA, I am more than capable of handling a doctoral program. Backwards, in heels.

- Rescued a plant I found in the trash room of my apartment complex. I’m not the greenest thumb but I am trying very hard to get this guy into better health. I’m pretty sure he’s a Janet Craig dracaena. 🧵
- Hopefully I did the pruning and repotting correctly for the shoots. It’s supposed to be a hardy plant that grows from cuttings this way, so fingers crossed.

- The worst things I’ve gotten: -(Sarcastically) “No way!” - “It’s because of all the microplastics.” - “Everyone’s a little autistic.” - One person crosses the street to avoid me whenever he sees me now. I did nothing to him, just told him I’m autistic. - “Have you tried essential oils?”
- Oh, I was also told by someone half my age that autism is a TikTok fad an I was being “cringe”. Honestly funnier than upsetting, tho. Also, I had to sit in on a discussion about how Dracula and other villains are autistic, and that makes them evil.
