Spurs Women Blog
Focusing on Spurs Women and women's football. Plus miscellaneous #COYS. ✍️ Longform thoughts spurswomen.com and @thecutback.com.web.brid.gy. 🎙️ Podcasting @n17women.bsky.social/. Run by Rachel Cohen.
- Interesting interview with Andy Rogers (Spurs Women's Managing Director) - focused on the transfer window - and future transfer policy. Does it even, maybe, sound like there's a plan...? www.youtube.com/watch?v=5n1v...
- NEW CONTRACT: ARAYA DENNIS We've not seen much of Araya after the first weeks of the season, but her on-the-ball skills stood out. Nice to know there's enough confidence in her development for Spurs to extend her contract. www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2026/fe...
- Maybe also connected to the lack of urgency in bringing in an additional RW player this window. 🤷♀️
- Big thanks to Spurs Women for waiting till the second half to score so away supporters had a perfect view of both goals. 🚀🚀
- Tilly to her doubters. 😤
- TAKE A BOW 🤩 Matilda Vinberg with an outstanding strike from outside the box! #BarclaysWSL #SpursWomen
- (c) Best Player in the World
- STUNNING FIRST TIME STRIKE 🌟 Olivia Holdt reacts quickest to a loose ball and fires it into the back of the net! #BarclaysWSL #SpursWomen
- 💯 Spurs appearances. 👏 Eveliina has reached this milestone in a just over 4 years because she's played almost every game since her arrival, starting almost all & typically lasting the full 90. And notwithstanding last week's slip 🫣 she's been remarkably consistent, becoming a linchpin to the team.🤍
- We deserved that one. 2️⃣8️⃣ shots. When have we last created that much in a game? Still got to work on defending in transition. And we'll miss Drew in the next few games. But... Back to winning ways and it feels v good! #COYS 👊
- Nothing but rockets today! Olivia Again Olé Olé 🚀
- Yes!! Tilly 👊🔥🚀
- A frustrating first half. With Josefine sitting back and Julie attacking we're back to the shape we had early season and are creating more, with 12 shots so far. But none on target & West Ham are sitting deep and have cut through us on the break to lead at the half. Still time. #COYS 🤍
- Subs warming up. Who'd you like to see second half?

- Lineup for West Ham Julie Blakstad gets her first start (in for Amanda who starts on the bench for the first time this season). And Tilly V starts on the wing, for Maika. Hoping the changes (and formation) address some of our issues with width/pace from the last game. #COYS
- Not going to lie - this was not a recording any of us looked forward to doing. But, hey, it's not football if there aren't bumps in the road. And it certainly isn't Spurs football! 😉
- 🎿NEW POD🤦♀️ #THWFC suffered their first loss of 2026, a 2-0 result away at Liverpool, due to late errors. We chat: • muddled midfield • lack of width • ineffective subs • late goal concessions • WSL table check-in • West Ham Preview • attendance woes & more #COYS 🎧: shows.acast.com/n17women/epi...
- Well that was a half of football. One shot & 0.03 xG pretty much sums it up. Maika, Olivia & Signe are struggling to get on the ball. FBs having a hard time. Amanda esp suffering from lack of passing options wide. Csillag looking good for Liverpool. On the upside they haven't scored. 2nd half #COYS
- Team's out. Let's go! #COYS
- Sad to see Kit go on loan to Ipswich. She's clearly not in Martin's plans. And her time at Spurs has twice been interrupted by ACLs. But there was a moment in 2021 when she was one of the most effective progressive players in the WSL. 1/2 www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2026/ja...
- Not to forget Kit's revival as a DM which was key to our NLD win. She's a player all of us wanted to see come into her own. Hope she gets a chance to shine in a team sorely in need of quality. Good luck Kit. 🤍 2/2
- Reposted by Spurs Women BlogFBRef was not only a brilliant resource generally, it made so much WoSo data available that couldn’t be found elsewhere. Absolutely gutting for fans, data nerds, and those of us who feel these things shouldn’t merely be the preserve of people with lots of money
- A great set of interviews from @talksport.com. Cannot get enough of Tinka's confidence. Let's all just soak it up! Full Talksport interview with Signe, Tinka, Hanna and Matilda N. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bioa...
- New blog. ✍️ Wrote a piece for @thecutback.com.web.brid.gy about Spurs Women's first games of the new year (and winning 2/2 against Leicester 🎉), including what our five new signings are already bringing! Read it here 👇 www.thecutback.com/p/spurs-wsl-...
- Tinka is all of us. 😍😂
- We got a bit philosophical this episode: "Open your heart and accept everyone, and we are the best team in the world" @abbierosemeow.bsky.social "There's only a finite number of Nildéns" @cgstefko.bsky.social Listen for those and other deep insights into Spurs beating Leicester! 👇
- 📈NEW POD📈 #THWFC made it into the next round of the FA Cup with a more decisive win against #LCWFC on try #2. We chat: • 5th round draw live reaction • more new signing debuts • Lenna's long-awaited goal • Martha's loan Plus, lots of listener questions! #COYS 🎧: shows.acast.com/n17women/epi...
- THREE 3️⃣ goals!!! Our biggest margin of victory vs WSL opposition this season and we're thru to the next round of the 🏆 Not a perfect performance but controlled and another clean sheet. And we now have almost an entire squad who can turn on the ball so we're not getting trapped going backwards. 1/2
- The quality of a few players - Maika most obvs - shining thru. As a consequence link up play across the pitch is improving. And a taste of exciting things to come from the debutants, Hanna, Julie and Matilda N. And Lenna's first ⚽ this season. Reasons to be cheerful #COYS 2/2
- Captain fantastic!
- Maika and Tōko 🤍🇯🇵
- Oohhh Bethany England. ⚽🎶
- #COYS 👊
- Maika gets her first start! 💃 With Drew on the bench looks like we'll see Signe as an 8. 👀 Blakstad on the bench so maybe we get to see her today! Otherwise the same as last week. Excited?! 🤩🤍
- MATCHDAY 🤍 🆚 Leicester City 🏟️ Brisbane Road 🏆 @AdobeWFACup ⏰ 12:00pm GMT 📺 SPURSPLAY It's a biggie: FA Cup knock out. 2nd in our Leicester double-header. We're playing to stay in the competition - and to have a few more Spurs Women games in what's turning into a v fun season. #COYS 💪
- So good to be back talking about football - and a win (even if it was a game with lots of emotional back-story).
- 🫣NEW POD🫣 It's one game down, one game to go against Leicester for #THWFC. We discuss: • Signe's promising start • Ash's (maybe) own goal • Maika's substitute debut • Post-game recognition for Ash Plus, a WSL check-in and a preview of Leicester, part two. #COYS 🎧: shows.acast.com/n17women/epi...
- How do we have so many players out with long term injuries?? That said, positioning the 3x ACLs front row centre is a thing! 🤔😂 BTW, guess this means Sophie Jackson (3rd keeper) is injured.
- Nice. 😎
- Tottenham have announced today that Ella Morris has signed a new long-term deal at the club! Morris is currently out recovering from an ACL injury she sustained before the end of last season. #SpursWomen #BarclaysWSL
- A nice discussion of the Top Four which suggests Spurs may be a 'disruptive force'! 😉
- Manchester City lead Chelsea in the WSL by six points. They have won all 11 games since defeat on the opening day to their title rivals. The perennial champions are their only rivals. @meganferinga.bsky.social on a top-four race split in two. bit.ly/4aVF4W3
