Of course law enforcement wears masks. They have long not been accountable to "the people." They are their own super-class of people with special rules. It's a symptom; not a cause.

The masks aren't the cause of their violent behavior. The masks are the result of a system that has uplifted law enforcement despite their open radicalization to the right. Where we are politically with federal police is the result of a failure to take seriously the problem of police power.

Police leaders will keep saying the problem is leadership because they want us to choose (via election or otherwise) "good" leaders who will use their discretion wisely. But that does not solve the problem of police acting like a super-class of people.
