- @britwarmemorial.bsky.social I was a tour guide in Scotland for many years. For several years I lived with a retired colonel in Her Majesty's Royal borders guards. One day we were traveling the west coast of and pulled over and pulled over to look at a World War I Memorial.
- When I asked why it was so far away from town or village, they explained that all of the men in the Village had been killed. All the women and children moved away, and the village ceased to exist. It brought the point to life and drove it home.
