- The Frankish monk Rabanus Maurus died #OTD in 856. His ‘De laudibus sanctae crucis’ (a series of poems on the cross) involves complex imagery, the letters within it making new texts. Here’s the first printed edition of the text, produced at Pforzheim in 1503. @theulspeccoll.bsky.social Tb.51.57.
