Nancy Drew: Girl Detective
Law and sports and politics.
“Stay fresh, cheese bags.”
Seattle Storm, UW Huskies, WNBA, Seahawks, Title IX, democracy, the Innocence Project, choice, ICWA. Huge Seattle Mariners fan every Sept-Oct. Former public defender, current tribal attorney.

We can literally see your names in the Epstein files.”
- And guess what? The unruly fan IS an attention-seeking, litigious a-hole looking for a payday.
- I’ve messaged the ESPN app people at least three or four times, demanding they make the font size adjustable. No one can read those tiny scores! Turns out I need glasses.
- Hot take: Valentine’s Day is for amateurs.
- Fun trivia: Which two current Seahawks players have sisters who play in the WNBA?
- In unrelated news, I really love Bluesky. As cheesy as it sounds, I didn’t realize that I was holding my breath until I could finally exhale. Constant micro-aggressions are no joke.
- And I’m a financially stable, straight, white lady with an advanced degree. If all the animosity exhausts me, I can only imagine how fucking tired others must feel.
- Why do I ever look at Facebook. Anything with public comments is just as toxic as what I’d find of ex-Twitter. So many insecure, racist, homophonic, sexist pathetic loser dudes.
- Best attorney crash out of the year so far. Maybe don't volunteer to represent destructive, unlawful, power crazy bigots with guns.
- Laying off an additional 1/3 of the employees? And that's after 400 people were let go in the last 3 years? Did Bezos buy the WA Post just to drive it into the ground? He has "a net worth of about $260 billion". He could self fund the paper if he actually cared that Democracy Dies in Darkness.
- A promise to myself: if the Seahawks ever play in New Zealand, I will be there!
- Some of this lines up with what I wanted to see in the CBA. But, without actual numbers, an “increase” in salaries, leave, etc, doesn’t mean much. And, as someone just pointed out, this list excludes desperately needed improvements to referee training and retention. bsky.app/profile/sonj...
- Yesterday the news was that the WNBA didn’t have a counter offer to the players’ most recent CBA proposal. But, today, this list of new offerings is leaked. Yellow I think is significant, pink is #Duh- they had no choice and blue is stupid town- they obviously should have been in place years ago.
- Help me out. What’s a “dad movie”?
- Reposted by Nancy Drew: Girl DetectiveIf you're in or around Nashville and want to watch some good, fun women's pro basketball, check out Athletes Unlimited! My wife and I went last year, and it was a blast. 👍👍

- This is some impressive candor to the tribunal. “I wish you would just hold me in contempt of court so I can get 24 hours of sleep,” Le said. “The system sucks, this job sucks, I am trying with every breath I have to get you what I need.”
- “A reasonable first question is: why should players be paid from a pie of net revenue when they have no say in how that pie is made, in other words, how the league budgets and spends its money, arriving at whatever’s left to pay players?“ NBA players get 40% of gross revenue. W players should too.
- Great article from Maria Marino on the current state of the WNBA labor negotiations. There are many reasons to question the league's position. This article does a great job of explaining the problems! www.si.com/onsi/womens-...
- I only have more questions after reading this. Why aren’t any reporters pining down the league about how it’s doing its math? Just repeating the talking point about offering the players “X% of revenue”doesn’t elucidate anything.
- The WNBA and WNBPA met for about three hours Monday, a gathering one source close to the situation described as "helpful" as both sides work toward a new CBA. Who was there, what they discussed, next steps, and more: www.espn.com/wnba/story/_...
- I meant “net revenue”. No one has explained how the league is defining it.
- The fact that the WNBA showed up to the meeting with the players without a proposal after not responding to the WNBAPA’s proposal sent over a month ago is enraging to me as a fan. Can’t imagine what the players feel. I really hope if we don’t get a W season, we get a second season of #Unrivaled.
