- Man I get the the last ep of SNW was a little weird and made no sense if this is your introduction to star trek but I DON’T CARE THIS WAS PURE FAN SERVICE AND I ATE THAT SHIT UP. // SPOILERS FOR STRANGE NEW WORLDS IN REPLY //
- The writers did a good job of giving us a parallel to TNG’s first episode. In TNG the John de Lancie Q (OG Q) condemned humanity for it’s mistakes. Then in VOY we get his son, who is taught all Q learned, but Q was never that emotionally human he had moments but generally he was emotionally a Q…
- So Junior Q never really understood it. He came to understand duty and responsibility (kinda) but never really the emotional drive. So thats what he does in this ep. He wants to see how humans express love in this “ultimate” way and fabricates emotions from existing feelings…

View full threadAlso to people saying “it’s not confirmed” “we didn’t see OG Q” like take a fuckin hint. They are really trying to tell us this is the new Q just shy of saying it outright. TBH if I were the creative director and saw people argue abt it I’d be coy too just to be an asshole bc it’s so obvious
- V/V UPDATE The PC demo build is up for review by the rest of the team. Going to see how hard it would be to insert the steamdeck reqs to have steam agree that it’s supported with a separate build, but it will have Windows and Linux. Worst case will do workarounds for Steam Deck like beta builds.

- I’m so glad AC is always on 4th of July, nothing may be open for food but it’s so much more fun to spend the day in a space where you can just be a weird furry creature

- Also some V/V housekeeping for today: The demo will likely de delayed for the start of next month, why? Main one being Steam must review first the build as part of their hosting process Other reason being I am the main drv for level and moving states is annoying AF. Cont.
- Omfg I cannot type at 10am apparently “I am the main dev for level 1” the last line is meant to say
- As a reminder, the popular game dev streamer “Thor” PirateSoftware has on multiple occasions lied to try and kill the petitions. It’s not as complicated as he tries to make it out to be. Please if you are EU read it and decide to sign on your own without others asserting what is is or is not
- I have read it and came to see for myself how Thor had lied about it. I won’t get into any intentionality debates because for now thats irrelevant, but know that whats on the petition is what it is, nothing more nothing less.

- Just got fully caught up with Witch Hat Atelier and it’s such a breathtaking manga. The plot doesn’t rely on Deus-Ex solutions but those born from the characters. And honestly the theme of “making problems you can’t solve into something you can” is something I will always take with me going forward
- After the move I’ve just been on limited energy trying to deal with everything that comes with this big of a move. I’ve honestly been slow in trying to get the V/V demo ready for steam review, but I’m glad I’ve at least found some media to help me find my creative spirit again

- Rewatching Capaldi’s Doctor Who after the uhhh… *interesting* writing on Gatwa’s run. Listen is just such a good story and Capaldi’s delivery of a lot of the freaky stuff is so well done
- I feel like this year the game awards will be dominated by indie game dev, it just doesn’t seem like theres much GOTY fodder from AAA this year which is fine, and I hope that this helps AAA see that growth in this industry requires fundamentally different ideas from the standard corporate playbook
- A few late night updates for V/V, we’re testing a few new movement changes regarding jumps, instead of tap vs hold jump we are swapping to a standard jump with an additional air jump available after. We hope this will help with making inputs feel more consistent as we move to launch a level 1 demo
- Just finished Expedition 33, Time to go cry. Holy shit what an amazing game the devs deserve everything in the world for gifting the world this masterpiece
- Me on my fuckin knees bowing down to the writers of Expedition 33 as I enter Act 3… I’ma need like A YEAR to process whats happening here LMFAO. If this isn’t a GOTY nominee this year I’ma lose it
- Shameless weekend post telling you to go wishlist my game on steam that comes out next year! store.steampowered.com/app/3719850/VV
- Reposted by LynxMake sure your RPG battle transitions, scene composition, and attack animations are at least as cool as this Taiwanese DOS RPG from 1995
- Just got caught up on the new Doctor Who ep and this is one of my favorites for this doctor, just what a great piece overall
- My own little postmortem on FWA this year is that this felt like one person making a lot of decisions without consulting anyone. I think the individual panel hosts and staff in charge of specific spaces did really well (special shoutout to Ashi in the Video Game Room for all the support for us devs)
- I hope specifically whoever was responsible for the virtual queue disaster gets an ego check because even though I am not affiliated with the con or anyone who made the virtual queue if I were a dev on that I would have told them that the product was not ready and they were likely told that
- Thank you again to everyone who came to see my developer den table at FWA. Please share around V/V with anyone who likes precision platformers I’ll likely have more to share next month on the project

- If anyone wants a last look at the game demo today at #fwa come by the video game room between 11am and 7pm! We will still be posting the demo on the steam page hopefully about a month from now too for anyone not at the con or unable to swing by
- If anyone who wants to see V/V in action I’m going to see about cleaning up a couple issues from the build I’m showing here at FWA and posting that as a demo onto the steam page so if you found me from a friend or wanted to play some more I got you don’t worry
- This will take maybe a month between me fixing shit, a big move, and waiting on steam to tell me what I fucked up in my posting LOL BUT I will do my best to get it done ASAP because the best way to know if you will enjoy our game is to TRY IT
- ALRIGHT GAMERS NEW PINNED POST TIME: Sup I’m Dusk I’m a furry game dev who makes also not furry games. I’m also a writer a fan of all kinds of creative crafts. Expect game design ramblings and such Linktree: linktr.ee/MelancholicL... Wishlist V/V on steam: store.steampowered.com/app/3719850/VV
- Holy shit thanks to everyone who played the V/V demo today! So many of yall I did not expect so many people. was so nice to talk to everyone and super nice to see interest in the game I’ll have more to devlog about it after the con!
- Ok I have been at my table in the game room most #fwa this year but the space management somehow feels worse than last year. My beef is that the drag show was impossible to get to, last year it was in one of the stage rooms at main why give it less space. Thats the one thing I wanted to see today
- But nah just reserve all the large stage rooms for random popup raves whatever even though the rooms are clearly empty and unused most of the time so fuck me I guess for wanting to have dinner with friends first and not get in line a fucking hour early to even try to get in
- Like they got back the Hyatt this year for vendor hall but then just forgot all the things that made last year work. Reg on bottom floor was always going to cause this reg issue. Raves are cool but just manage the space, why fully reserve that space out??? Other large shows happen too.
- Why the fuck are we doing this digital line bs. I legit did not know about this till someone told me AT THE CON bc it was announced like a day before
- To anyone who came to my page for V/V Very sorry the steam page is not up currently. It seems Steam for some reason at the last minute decided I didn’t have something that I do. so until they are able to look again just follow me here and I’ll post as soon as it’s up.
- Grand Nagus Trump was not on my 2025 bingo card but here we are
- For those not familiar with Star Trek, The Grand Nagus is the leader of a race that exist as capitalist stooges and are often the punchline of the series. Said Nagus is also kinda a religious icon bc they worship money. He is old, senile, and easily manipulated :)
- Partially setup today at FWA! May come down to showcase for a bit after reg clears up today but going to have full setup tomorrow at 9! The game room is in the back of the Hilton come try out the demo sometime this weekend or tell your friends!
- ok Claire Obscur is a decent candidate for GOTY already. Story is interesting, combat system is super engaging and a nice blend of classic FF style turn based combat and modern ARPG combat systems with it's own style. Only downside is that fucking baguette skin LMFAO
- I’m always throughly impressed by #PF2e. I’ve played in Strength of Thousands, Outlaws of Alkenstar, Prey for Death, some Abomination Vaults, am running Season of Ghosts, and preparing to play in Kingmaker. The system always feels fresh and interesting and never “solved” like 5e did
- Like in 5e I tried to play a smart druid once because in some ways it didn’t matter Most spells I had were half effective on a save anyways so I just threw whatever at an enemy because it could always be useful who cared about 1 less wis in the long run? Not in PF2e, min-max is useful and still fun
- As a programmer, they can be useful for getting a shell of something that is simple in concept but annoying/tedious to program (specific recurrsive loops, nested loops, or long switch cases) This does not mean it is a replacement for people. I’ve seen people use GPT as their code and it’s not good
- It’s also not a web browser, fact checker, reliable source of information, or replacement for anything. It’s like a seasoning. Good for some things in small amounts but not all and not in the amounts lots of tech use it currently

- I just finished watching Pose and it is easily one of the most topical queer pieces I’ve seen recently. This is about the 80s/90s and how queer culture survived in spite of HIV and drugs, a past that seems way too likely to repeat. It’s not a documentary but it is based heavily in factual history

- Man I do like Marvel Rivals but the silhouette problems are getting a bit absurd. Like I thought Invis Woman and Dagger being both supports and looking like twins was already pretty egregious both being supports but +1 tank to make it a trio is a but much.
- Like they can all be blonde but at least give the defaults some uniqueness in clothing shape or color.
- Bruh our professor (who has clearly never played a video game before and yet runs game design capstone class) said that screen wipe death effects are “distracting” today and I feel like I’m going insane bc he kept inventing new reasons to dislike it… the effect will stay in but my sanity is not T.T

- Doing Global Game Jam this weekend at my college and it amazes me how inefficient Unity, the supposed easy game engine, is at basic game movement systems like dashes. I spent an hour on ~13 lines of code that would have been 10 minutes and 4 lines in Godot. Conclusion: Unity is an O(n^2) game engine
- I’m also doing algo in my last semester so yes, I am leveling time complexity as an insult to unity because I can and nobody can stop me
