Anna
It's a toad in a dandelion hat, so you know it's me.
If my life wasn't interesting, it would simply be true, and that's unacceptable.
The queer, feminist, disabled, chronically online, overly domestic housewife your mother warned you about. She/they.

- Just because *I* didn't get any sleep doesn't stop Aster from being effortlessly adorable this early on a Monday morning.
- Think twice? I don't even think once!
- Fluff wants me to remind you to stretch your neck, get some water, and have a snack!

- I've been on a kick of cooking from cookbooks again, and a beloved friend recommended the America's Test Kitchen 'Dinner Illustrated' cookbook as their place they go when they don't want to have to think too hard about dinner Y'all, it has changed my whole dinner game. SO many winners, consistently
- It's easy to find used, like a lot of cookbooks, and I know when I cook something in it, it won't be AI slop. There's been a 2 things I've made that weren't universal winners, but every recipe has worked, and I've made probably 20 dinners from it over the last two months.
- Each "recipe" is actually a whole dinner - broken down step by step of what order to do which things in, so that at the end you have a full dinner all done at the same time. It's honestly a great skill builder for someone leveling up their dinner game, and the pictures and instructions are great.

- Made a dinner I'm proud of tonight. Roast salmon, rice, and veggies (radish, cucumber, avocado, green onion) with a very light miso dressing.
- Even when the world is crumbling around me, my family still gotta eat, and some nights the act of making a mise en place is the closest to establishing order that I get for the day.
- Todd has a couple of favorite toys - namely Blue Mousie and Orange Fishy. He likes to carry them around and sing at the top of his kitty lungs about how he has vanquished them Just came downstairs with Orange Fishy in his mouth, singing, so he went YoowOwOwOwOwOwOw as he hit each step coming down
- Last night's dinner was a chicken molé with cilantro lime rice and beans. I loved it, Husbot thought it was pretty good. Oldest kid inhaled a pile of rice and beans with sauce. Younger two kids ate ramen (rule in my house is "try everything" but nobody has to eat food they don't like)
- Aster is a hard-working kitten, especially on a Monday. She has so many things on her to do list, so to start the week she is lounging under the quilt rack.
- Next on her list is helping put away groceries.
- All that's left on the to-do list for today is making sure the carpet stays weighed down properly.
- Husbot and I took a short weekend trip to a nearby town to just be... not at home. We spent most of it resting and eating way too much amazing food. When we got home, Todd and Carrie immediately let me know that I was not allowed to leave the house for the foreseeable future. Synchronized Cuddles.

- Reposted by AnnaThis is worth 3 minutes of your time. No one wants to eat at a restaurant that only serves bland chicken. (It’s not about chicken, or restaurants, tho)
- Other stuff I might talk about because I don't have much of a community for it includes EDS (classical + hyper mobility), POTS, dysautonomia, CFS, MCAS(?) and mental health stuff to possibly include significant Bipolar and anxiety Can feel depressing to talk about though, so we'll see
- Beyond pictures of cats, the other thing I take lots of pictures of is food. I love to cook, and I'm cooking for 5 adults, 7 days a week It's generally serviceable meals that my neurospicy family will eat, but I do try to make it pretty Anyway. Tonight's dinner is Chicken Katsu with cabbage slaw
- Before anyone asks, yes I get a lot of help, no I'm not the only cook, yes I help clean up but generally not more than dealing with leftovers, and I get entire weeks off sometimes. My household works best with me as the primary cook for a bunch of reasons, one of which is how much I like doing it!
- Aster is here to soothe away the Sunday Scaries.

Its very goal is to make you feel like you're the only person unwilling to accept a cult of personality. On days like today you fully realize there are more of us than there are them. You will feel better.

- It's rare that I get actual decent portrait style shots of Carrie (who is pretty spooky and hates cameras) but I nabbed one just now. Thought I'd do a little side by side. The tiny baby photo is the day we got them. The cat with a purple background is Todd. The cat on a green blanket is Carrie.
