- A lot of people have been sharing their appreciation for the late Sal Buscema. Here's mine: smearysoapboxpress.wordpress.com/2026/01/29/i...

- Same. He was THE Hulk artist that hooked me on the character from my first issue, and gave the series a consistency for a good 8 years after that! His work never felt as refined as his brother's did, but I found it a lot more FUN because of that!
- Better late than never, here are my favorite reads from 2025: smearysoapboxpress.wordpress.com/2026/01/20/r...
- Read the thread, too, if you aren't familiar with Franklin's introduction... and even if you are, it's still a good story.

- Reposted by Dale Martin, CartoonistFor @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention. The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
- Good job, MN Cartoonist! Reminder: all the warrant stuff at the bottom is 4th Amendment fact!!

- Thanks for adding Memphis editions (in both English and Spanish!), Megan! Folding some this morning...
- 70+ free printable "How to Report ICE" zines with info on the SALUTE protocol and local hotline numbers for all over the country! Including some in Spanish! There is an info sheet on how to fold and cut the zines and a form to request a zine for your area. drive.google.com/drive/folder...

- Having worked in public library cataloging, I understand the impact B&T's closing means. This article explains it well, and also explains why it's taking longer for titles to reach your library's shelves...
- A short review, but it sounds like Tom really liked our most recent issue! @linworkman.com did a fantastic job putting this one together!
- Come join me for Thursday's artist reception, 6-8 pm, 6560 Poplar. It's a gorgeous space, and the MSCA pieces (which I helped hang) look great there. Looking forward to seeing the Serenco pieces on full display, too!

The tradition, also known as Koliada or kolędowanie, dates to pre-Christian times 🧵

- Reposted by Dale Martin, CartoonistUsing genAI for concept art is so fucking stupid because like... that's where you get the cool shit. Thats the blue sky phase where artists make pieces of art that will be seen by a teenager later and change their life forever. Why would you want to start from mediocre. Why would you do that.

- Happy Monkey Day (according to NationalToday.com)! I’m most comfortable drawing w/ pen & ink for reproduction (where I can make edits & corrections that only I see), so painting a one-off piece of original art (like this “Xmas Surprise” from 2022) isn’t something I do very often. #ArtAdventCalendar
