Ban Israeli Wine
Ban Israeli Wine is a network of organizations in BC urging the provincial government to ban the sale of Israeli wine to respect obligations under international law and appeals from the Palestinian BDS movement.
- There is an election happening for the next leader of the BC Green Party. Here is what it means for Ban Israeli Wine: The BC Green Party has an opportunity right now.
- Green Leadership Candidates can either offer business as usual OR candidates can differentiate themselves from the provincial NDP by platforming Palestinian solidarity through commitments for principled action.
- The NDP’s record is a racist double standard - banning US and Russian alcohol for political reasons while claiming Palestine is a federal issue. Will the BC Green’s record be one of courage or cowardice?

- For decades, Israel has waged attacks on Indigenous Palestinian food sovereignty to achieve settler-colonial goals, including: 🔻Dispossession of land and resources 🔻Weaponization of food and water 🔻Ecocide and environmental degradation 🔻Disruption of traditional food knowledge and practices
- Palestinian farmers have long been subjected to severe violence by Israeli settlers, destruction of crops and animals, water restrictions and land seizure, all with the support, protection, and participation of the Israeli military and police forces.
- Israeli wines are a direct product of this violence against people and land. Wineries such as Teberberg (which owns and sources from vineyards in the Occupied West Bank), and Galil Winery & Golan Heights Winery (in occupied Syria) are profiting from land theft and apartheid.

- It’s clear - the @davidebybc.bsky.social is an active participant in the normalization of genocide. The @bcndpcaucus.bsky.social consistently refuses to ban Israeli wine.
- Terroir (french for 𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑑) is a term used by wine enthusiasts to describe how a wine expresses its unique taste - defined by the soil, climate, and human activity of a region.
- The grapes grown on occupied Palestinian and Syrian land, and bottled as Israeli wine, can express nothing but colonial occupation and the 𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒓 of Israel’s ongoing holocaust in Gaza, Palestine.
- Israel is currently restricting all food, water, and aid from entering Gaza. While Israel is subjecting Gazans to famine and killing them by starvation and malnutrition, the @bcl continues to shelve Israeli wines grown on stolen land and watered with stolen resources.
- Israel must be held accountable for its violations of international law, including its use of starvation as a weapon. 𝐁.𝐂. 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐬𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐥𝐢 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐍𝐎𝐖!

- Ban Israeli Wine is a network of organizations in BC urging the provincial government to ban the sale of Israeli wine.
- For years, groups in the struggle for justice for the Palestinian people, have been calling for the removal of Israeli wine from BC in order to pressure Israel to abide by international law. The government of BC has consistently refused.
- This refusal is despite the fact that BC has imposed sanctions on alcohol from Russia (2022) and US red states (2025). It’s time for the BC government to ban Israeli wine in defense of the rights of Palestinians.
