- AI users, after it falls out of favor and collapses, will then be competing for jobs with people who *didnt* forfeit years of skill development. People who were our peers in 2020 will essentially have fallen 6-7 years behind.
- Every time you flex a skill you hone it. Why would I give up any skill points in an industry as competitive as this? In a craft with more to learn than you can fit in a human lifetime??

- Not every game company is hopping onboard the AI hype train. Manor Lords publisher Hooded Horse bans gen AI art in its contracts. "If I sound frustrated, it's because, like, honestly, all this thing has done is made our... kotaku.com/hooded-horse-gen-ai…
- and the HITS! KEEP! COMING!
- Seeing all the QRTs with gamers and devs responding in support is so affirming 😌😌😌 Remember, “it’s here to stay” is wishful marketing! Nobody wants this!! They can “disrupt” every industry, make everybody’s job “”obsolete,”” but somehow “ai” is the only inevitability? You can just say “fuck off”!
- if "gen ai" models can take our work, i'm gonna start taking back. my body of work definitely helped train these models. so I worked on Divinity now
- "experiment [...] to make their lives easier." If your artists are so pressed for time they can't find a suitable reference, or sketch out a rough composition that'll get worked over manually anyways, that represents a monumental failure at management level.
- When I was 8, I watched a “how to draw Spirit [the horse]” special feature, where James Baxter sits at a desk, in an office, drawing for work. This was huge news. I imagined packing my dad’s briefcase with colored pencils and printer paper on my way to The Drawing Office. I had to make it there!
- I remember feeling a sincere relief, like “well that’s my career sorted.” I never knew what to answer to “what do you want to be when you grow up?” And then I did! The only time I seriously considered a different career path was as an adult, in the process of burning out on freelancing.
- if your values hit this won't matter! beyond that, color is relative anyway, so it's not about the hex code but instead the relationship between colors in your piece. if your hue turns are so minor and precise as to be ruined on a different monitor, then I guarantee they're not working anyhow
- Also my spicier take is this is exactly the same thing with RGB -> CMYK. get your values right and the piece becomes *incredibly* resilient to the adjustments required for print format
