- I am choosing to believe that the Blue Jays are waiting for this, their upcoming 50th Season, to win another World Series! 😬😁
- Weekend things: spatchcocked a chicken & baked a whole wheat bread loaf, had a butter iced fairy cake + banana mocha 😋, tried Revolver Pizza’s Pistachio Bianca (fantastic mortadella & huge slices!), treated myself to some cast iron cookware 😊 & had Choux Lab caramel cream puffs. Good eating was had!
- My BFF gave me some more vintage clothes that no longer fit her. My fave is a mohair cardigan which is perfect for these freezing temperatures. She also gave me some Lucy Maud Montgomery short stories & a 1943 Movie Story magazine. I’m excited because Jean Arthur (my fave actor ever!) is in it! 🤩
- Watched Michael Cimino’s directorial debut, THUNDERBOLT AND LIGHTFOOT for the 1st time & still thinking about it. Jeff Bridges (who was nominated for an Oscar) was fantastic as the young cocky kid who just wants to be friends with Clint Eastwood & be part of a bank heist.
- George Kennedy’s his typically cold mean assholey self but so good! I’m still reeling from the ending. Been thinking about Michael Cimino’s career & @sheilakathleen.bsky.social sent out a great convo w/ Ryan Czerwonko & Hannah Hale about Cimino’s Defeat. sheilaomalley.substack.com/p/ciminos-de...
- Let’s see if the recycling is picked up this week (was not two weeks ago after calling & leaving it out for three days - I gave up because of that week’s snowstorm 🙄). Called on Friday to remind them but who the hell knows?
- HA! Nope! The *whole* neighbourhood’s recycling was not picked up. So we haven’t had our recycling picked up at all in 2026. I could honestly see people just throwing it into their garbage bins because those are being picked up regularly as scheduled by the City. What a shitshow. I’m blaming Dougie.
- Evidently I missed the memo they’re delaying recycling pickup by a day due to the snowstorm. Sorry. This does not explain why they never picked up two weeks ago - the weather was clear & so were the roads (until that week’s snowstorm hit two days later). Yes, I am that old woman yelling on her lawn.
