Weather models suggest this may eventually end up as a hurricane that curves across the Atlantic. This is likely to bring a lot of uncertainty to the UK forecast in 10-14 days.

- Reposted by Crispin HollowayAs we guessed, it has been the hottest summer on record, even surpassing 1976 which we thought was extraordinary, now appears ordinary. What will this do to butterflies? Small Tortoiseshell has been a victim, but Silver-spotted Skipper and Silver-studded Blue have benefitted. Its a complex picture

- Adonis blue on the wing, quite early and they looked a little smaller than usual - the warm and dry summer? Good number of Chalkhill blue Malling Down Lewes Also, a few Silver-spotted Skipper. More Wall Brown than usual.
