The threat of a large-scale immigration enforcement surge in Vermont has galvanized elected leaders and community organizers to prepare with a greater sense of urgency.
The Washpost's editor said today that, amid the layoffs, one of the Post's top priorities will be "national security, in DC and abroad."
And at the same time, the Post is laying off every journalist in the Middle East. And Ukraine.
One lesson from the Epstein–Mandelson affair is that we need to stop routinely rehabilitating political careers after serious scandals.
When politicians knowingly engage in grave ethical wrongdoing, that should permanently end their political careers. Being "talented" should not override that.
