- I think the weather is putting audiences off tonight…
- #BestPictureCatchup Film 2 - Cimarron (1931). This Oklahoma-set Western is epically scaled and ambitious, but it’s also hard work. A product of its time which only really gains momentum in its second half, the old-timey views too often leaving a bad taste in the mouth. #Filmsky
- 10 hours until I get to watch the new Sam Raimi!

- I put off listening to this for a few days, now bereft one of my favourite podcasts has ended. I’ll miss their goofy chats and advice podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/n...
- Favourite first time watches January 2026 (Pillion, Sisu: Road to Revenge, From Here to Eternity, Taste of Fear). #filmsky
- #BestPictureCatchup Film 1 - The Broadway Melody (1929). You can definitely see why this early musical made such an impact in 1929 with the way it plays with sound and (briefly) colour film. It’s also a stagey but well-performed story about showbiz and relationships not mixing well. #Filmsky
- Over the next 6 weeks I’m watching every Oscar Best Picture winner I’ve never seen before. Follow along for my thoughts… #Filmsky
