Sorry To Be Political, but...
Left-leaning armchair expert, tired of reading the news and feeling helpless, so I type into this void instead, hoping to remind people they're not alone.
- The ask was always this: Expel from the Republican party the neo-nazis, the pedophiles, and the malicious cruelty. If what you have left is nothing, then you never had ground to stand on for your ideals and beliefs.
- Jesus would've been beaten, deported to a prison camp where he'd die in a prison system under the current administration. ICE is the new Nazi Gestapo and where some of these people are sent are nothing but thinly veiled death camps in the making.
- Anyone remember when Trump had his dead wife exhumed and reburied on one of his golf courses so he could get a tax exemption for the property? I dunno, maybe things like that were the red flags of lengths he would go. He has no ethical boundaries. No line he's unwilling to cross.
- Trump is a pedophile, rapist and likely tied to multiple murders as a result of this Epstein stuff. It's honestly more surprising that more of the Republican party hasn't distanced itself from that mess.
- More stalling. The other governmental branches need to just step in and be a bit more proactive about shutting down the ringleader of this inhumane circus.
- The DoJ has a very clear tactic that everyone said they'd use. They have laced the files with some fake files to disprove the rest. So now that they're announcing "millions" more new files, they seek to flood proceedings with unresolvable review. Permanently staggering the legal proceedings.
- Our judicial and legislative branches need to step up and shut down this mess. It's already gone way too far. No president should ever be immune to the consequences of their actions. This is about not condemning the US to the full duration of this dangerous behaviour.
- When I drew parallels to Barron Trump to Joffrey from Game of Thrones... I was partly joking. Reality might be closer to that though. Just more links to Trump's family involving these crimes by association. Also Donald Trump pardoned Andrew Tate at one point, so there's that.
- Honestly, hot take, but if you use Fortnite as your escape from reality, don't feel bad for playing. The Harry Potter collab was a bad move. So boycott purchases in the game. Make sure they understand that selling out part of their community for any reason should always be unacceptable.
- If you aren't looped in. Any Harry Potter branded products puts money in the pocket of JK Rowling, who actively opposes trans rights and that money is put towards actively oppressing them, including the classification of trans individuals as sub-human.
- What this means is that they can be denied basic human rights on the basis of their trans identity. They can be denied jobs, housing, and basic necessities. JK Rowling actively is a horrible person. Don't let your childhood nostalgia ever make you mistake that.
- Well there's no bylaws about using an autopen even if true. It's just a "well technically he didn't sign them" like a kid on the playground "well technically I didn't touch you, I just poked you with this stick". Also you can't just cancel the works of a former president over tweet.
- What are the bets that he's doing the Michael Jackson thing where he's hiding physical issues behind clothing.
- Honestly I'm going to just frame this in my head as: They went after Elmo and Elmo does not mess around.
- PBS did us a solid and dropped the whole Epstein emails. www.pbs.org/newshour/pol...
- Huh, would you look at that? Released documents highlight he's got a high likelihood of having lied. Nobody is surprised as usual, but it's nice to get some vindication.
- I feel that sometimes we need more whistleblower protections. People shouldn't be afraid to tell the truth. I understand the need to keep active situations under secrecy, but this is significantly overdue.

- Didn't he also get caught with an anonymous payoff for another teenage girl? What happened with all that?

- You can still get worse than that: He used his pageant business to exploit women and children as fodder for Epstein in preliminary scouting exchange. The overlap was obscured by Trump's shoddy paperwork. It would also explain his pardon of Andrew Tate's human trafficking.

- Trump has had control of the Epstein files for far too long to believe he hasn't doctored them in some way.
- The Presidency that claims to have cut wasteful spending continues to wastefully spend.
- Reposted by Sorry To Be Political, but...This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful. Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened. This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.
- It sure seems like this administration still has plenty of people in pockets. From the Russians, crypto-moguls, the tech sector, Qatar, oil-moguls, the Israeli government, various billionaires... It's honestly hard to track which one is doing the bad deed because they all are.
- To be fair, it's easy to create this sort of weight loss when you're starving the population. There's probably also something with Dr. Oz getting kickbacks from his Ozempic dealings. He's a true snake oil salesman.
- Elon Musk's trillionaire status is based on a salary that he agreed to pay himself from a company who's valuation isn't nearly so high so he can use it as leverage for money he doesn't have. Pretty sure for all the wealth Elon has, most of it is a hollow empty shell and worth nothing.

- I have a genuine worry that one of these days they'll pull a Weekend at Bernie's with Trump's dead body. Play puppeteer with his social media and wheel out his corpse to display for photo ops as proof he's alive. I don't wish the worst, but I expect it from the people he's surrounded himself with.

- Putting pronouns in your bio isn't a requirement. I'm not sure how they always seem to interpret it as a nonconsenting thing. Like, you don't have to participate in doing the thing, it's optional. It's just a way to establish equal footing and respectful boundaries... which I guess is the issue.
- Nothing Trump does is without gain. It's always a scam and at the end of the day, he pockets it somehow.
- Can we talk about the way this is displayed? The format is "Opinion: %" and then is displayed on bars as if they correlate to the number. It feels like it's meant to make you see them as the same amount at-a-glance. I dunno who this is for, but just is weird to me.
- Yeah, we may want to replace Jay Jones next cycle. That said, the argument that he said bad things he shouldn't have been picked. Ask the Republicans why they waited right up to this close to an election to reveal his actions if they knew? Is the issue his actions or that he got elected?
- It's quite the highlight this. Why, if they believe in their message, do they need to call in bomb threats? Why did it happen in Georgia Democrat-centric areas during the 2025 election? Why is most of the found election fraud largely aligned with the Republican party? Bit of rhetorical.
- If it was a sign of desperation, then what do we call the Texas gerrymandering? Mike Johnson is deplorable and complicit in the cruelty of his party. Hey Republicans, if any of you are reading this, can you replace him with someone with a spine.
- My continued asks for the Republicans is this: Change out the corrupt, the pedophiles, those who do not do their job. Get rid of the rapists, the criminals. Get me someone with current Republican ideals who isn't any of those things. Surely one must exist, right?
- And while I don't agree with Republican ideals. I do wish they'd lead with a bit more tact and awareness. Not this wholeheartedly empty bullshit. While Republicans look for someone who fits those bills, if they even exist, Democrats need to step up to the plate and be more firm in their words.

- Racism on the other site is in full swing. Expect violence, because that's how they seem to react when things don't go their way. I don't want this to be the worry I have, but it is. Trump already has said California rigged the voting, similar to the actions taken before January 6th. Stay safe.
- Is there an echo? Mike Pence doesn't know when questioned about these things. Trump doesn't know when questioned about these things. Republicans don't know... Hollow words from empty people.
- The fight is not over. These wins are a strong argument and point. On the other site, the rhetoric is a few things: -The elections were cheated. -It doesn't matter, Trump will annul them. -It's not a year that matters, it's not a presidental year.
- This is the danger, that they believe these things. That they will continue to try to be a tyrannical government. That they truly learned nothing from their fellow humans. This is dangerous. The fight is not over, be safe, protect democracy.
- The trolley problem again. You conduct the train, on one track is now 42 million Americans and you can pull a lever to put it on the other track where there is literally nothing. You instead accelerate the train.
- "That will show the democrats!" It's too consistent that the Democratic messages are not great, but widely lean into intent to do good for people. And the Republican messages are "Everyone should just die". And while Democrats may not all follow their messages, Republicans certainly try to.
- To serve and protect, by the law. When ICE breaks the law, they must be held accountable. That's equally one the problem highlighted by calls to defund the police, where police are not held to the same accountability. This is the pushback. Authority cannot be without checks and balances.
- Ditto for the US, but that's because ICE put them all in prisons.
- It's a fact. (technically) It's a fact taken out of context to misrepresent the reality. The fraud committed is such a marginal fraction. Statistically though, the people most likely to commit voter fraud are Republicans.
- In elections, you see different types of fraud. Donor fraud for one example, like Cuomo's current campaign accepting donations from a 5 year old "who really wanted to donate" to skirt donation laws. The problem is that Leavitt is pretending it's general voter fraud, that all elections are rigged.
- The even bigger problem though, is that the investigations into voter fraud in Trump's own election have been largely hindered or compromised by his own party. Where the fraud itself might not be notable, but the protection of those who have committed the crime certainly is.
- Schedules allowing for minimal time to get out and vote was the intended target, teachers and workers given short windows to leave work and vote. There's reports of voter intimidation too. Be careful, they're doing everything they can to stop democracy. I suspect worse than reported.
- I don't think Trump will, I think they'll just try to shoe-in another figurehead with Trump as a close advisor. His health is a little bit too downhill and even he knows it, given how he hides it. For Trump, it's bravado, pretending so he can spit in the face of others.
- I know it's intent. An intentional on-the-nose snub to America. I do wonder if it's just rude posturing though or their intent to force a depression so they can use it to do things.

- Yep. And the shutdown continues as Democrats continue to say "removing healthcare will kill people". All while Republicans claim it's a Democratic shutdown and extending the leave period payout, telling theirs not to show up.
- Trump continues to use the DoJ to target political opposition. This is a direct violation of civil liberties and targeting candidates this close to elections is unconscionable. The Trump administration is nothing shy of overreach.
- Also googling "targeting political opponents" because I thought there was a specific word for it, but couldn't think of it... the first result was this article. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Targeti...
