- At the National Association of State Election Directors's conference this week, we had a chance to meet dedicated election directors from around the country and show our off voting equipment.
- It's always deeply inspiring to see the dedication and hard work of so many election officials from around the country. We're proud to be a part of this important community, working on the foundation of our Democracy, and ensuring every vote is counted properly.
- At the National Association of Secretaries of State winter conference this past week, we had the honor of presenting for a few minutes to all of the assembled Secretaries.
- Just about every voter trust crisis of the last few years is rooted in honest, human error. It's not Russia or China hacking our voting machines – though we shouldn't ignore that risk – it's a hard-working election administrator missing a step in a complex checklist.
- Our message – let's stop blaming "human error", and start blaming voting systems. We expect a modern car to protect us from ourselves – lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, etc. That's a car you can trust.
- We need the same protection from voting systems – paper/tabulator configuration mismatch detection, paper crease filtering, etc. Voting systems should protect us from human error. Because if they don't, we'll continue to have crises of broken voter trust for entirely preventable raesons.
