why not try Wander Mode?

It's not just Roleplay Mode but Easier. You become a battlefield historian and scavenger, a manipulator of reputation and a hoarder of books. Violence will still come for you, but it'll be more of a surprise and you'll have to choose when and where to engage more carefully.
