- This is really interesting. With reasonable assumptions, the margin on GPT5 inference wasn't enough to offset GPT5 R&D/Training.
- Of course, OpenAI knows how fair these assumptions are, and we don't. But I'm convinced that they know the LLM arms race is unsustainable (if they stop training new models, open source catches up), and that's why they *need* AGI to make the business work. In other words: It's a bubble.
- Pretty sure this the best non playoff Champions League moment ever. This alone made the new format worth it.
- Reposted by Ricardo Tavareswhat i can appreciate about claude code in the terminal versus the chatbot stuff is that i feel i am talking to computer to make it do computer. whereas the chatbot stuff feels much more like a thing pretending to be human. feels more like using a power tool than going to therapy if that makes sense

- Reposted by Ricardo TavaresIt is election day in Portugal, and it's on a Sunday. Why? Well, so that everybody can vote. Families get dressed up and head for the polling place, then out for lunch afterward. It's a day. Feels so different from the U.S., which engineers elections so that it is difficult for everyone to vote.

- One of the small surprising things about the Trump takeover is the effect on Hacker News: most Trump related news is flagged and taken from the front page. A good example: this highly voted and good sourced reporting on the CBS segment.

- Google's Antigravity is crazy. I tried it on a web game I videcoded earlier to change the gameplay, and it actually started the app, opened of the browser and tried to play it to check if it worked. It also saved a video of the session for me to review. WTF?
- Reposted by Ricardo TavaresIt really, really does not feel like many of the people pushing AI and robotics to go as fast as possible have a good model of how it's going to go well
