Boss themes for Hyden... I'm dating myself a little here, 'cause to me, the coolest and most epic big bad boss music is the Atma Weapon theme from FF6. I love the way it kinda plays up and down the scales and has this unhinged "on the edge" feeling. Shit's gotten really bad to get to this point.

...and then gets *worse*. FF6 was the first RPG I recall where the ball is so COMPLETELY dropped despite everything the heroes do to appear to 'win', or at least avert disaster... and your jaw just DROPS, because it was 1994, "they wouldn't do THAT with half the game still to go." But they did.
It was SO COOL. The 16 bit gen was the peak for that "Surprise! There's an entire second world!" thing. Several awesome JRPGs with time travel or alt world maps, plus Zelda LTTP and probably many others. I'm a sucker for that kinda thing so I just loved it.
It was 1994 and you had NEVER SEEN IT BE 'REVEALED' LIKE THAT before.
