Celeste got her groove back
Friendly neighborhood biology teacher working on better assessment and grading practices (UBC). Permanently under construction. Say hey to your dog for me! 🇨🇦🇺🇸 @ubc
- I just had a piece accepted in a museum exhibition (It’s the museum of personal failure, thanks for asking)
- Big news: My autoimmune thing is almost completely controlled with the enzyme that digests histamine (DAO) But it’s hard to find in 🇨🇦 , so I’m back across the border every few weeks to pick it up 🙄
- I made my neighbor a sweater and left it on her porch this morning. Look at her - she’s so proud 🥹❤️
- Receipt that we did in fact grow up drinking from the hose
- Reposted by Celeste got her groove backWhen they ask me what radicalized me
- Look at the festive vintage cookie jar I just thrifted 🍪❤️ 🌲
- They’re both big mad, but that’s paybacks for putting up w/ their shenanigans all yr 😡 😂
- Morning drama in a single photo
- My day 5 #AdventCalendar is an emergency trip to the vet with this dufus 🙄😭
- I did not grow up in a paper towel family. I do not buy them, but my spouse does. He asked me to pick up some paper towels and WHY ARE THEY SO EXPENSIVE??
- @drcatmac.bsky.social #3. (Last one to noodle on for now) Student w/ severe sleep disorder. Cannot be accountable for anything time related. We designed a specific project in my lab that was robust to disruption BUT big picture- how does this work in a team OR w/ regular labs w/o the flexibility
- @drcatmac.bsky.social #2: Part of science in most labs is presenting work to others. We have students who cannot do this under any version including prerecording. How do we equitably accommodate while still training in scientific communication?
- @drcatmac.bsky.social Here is my 1st hurdle: We see increasing need for students to NOT work in groups. I’ve figured this out for my lab, but for general science guidelines (think chem), limitations on space/reagents/etc necessitate group work.
- Reposted by Celeste got her groove backHuge News from the Western Amazon: it's the year 2025 and we are still describing entirely new, strikingly-distinctive large-bodied bird species!
