G.
I'm a professional photographer. And a writer. I love listening, talking, expressing ideas and commenting books, movies and art in general. Not alien from todays international politics.
- Venice, Italy. Today. Sometimes you have to turn daily reality upside down to rediscover it. Reflections are there to remind us of a different way to look at the usual landscape. Photography creates questions, answers and debates framing the usual in unusual ways.
- "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts." William Shakespeare As You Like It, Act 2, Scene 7 May your parts be satisfying, happy and interesting ones. Wish you all happy festivities, G.
- In these last days of the year 2024 I'm working on a photo book with some of my latest shots. People in their environment(s): social, architectural, psychological ... Arts are here to help us think, understand and live. Always ignorance breeds fear and silence equals death.
- Yesterday I was walking in the old town center of Lucca, Tuscany, when I caught this shot. My humble, surrealist, Monna Lisa.
- And this is one of my most known photos. A dog caught not far from Rome. The name of this photo is Dog & Kite, and it's dedicated to John Crosley, photographer, mentor, friend, since the good old times in photo.net
- Her name is Wendy. She has a new coat, bought for the Christmas season. And she seems proud of it. She doesn't like to be photographed, just like everybody else (almost everybody else)
- So. There's a bread crumble on Wendy's blanket. And we have to stay there, guarding that precious treasure for hours. Literally three hours now. No way to go elsewhere. My beloved Teacup Chihuahua is teaching another zen lesson, about perseverance (with a touch of stubbornness). 🙏🏻🐾
- We are small. Once we learn this, we have to learn how vast is everything else, and beautiful. Eventually we will find beauty in ourselves too.
- Ma: il the meaning of Ma (間) Is a fascinating, profound concept in the Japanese culture. Interval. Space, Empty Space between two structural elements. The balance between white and black, Yin and Yang . Emptiness is not "nothingness", but the fertile ground where new concepts and ideas grow .
- Today. While walking back to the car after a short walk. A closed door. My shadow. Like a haiku.
- There are rare times in which you get a glimpse of the whole, and not only of a single, separate detail. This should be one of the main narrative targets of photography. Get inside four lines what you think is worth of attention, and there create links, relations, oppositions... a whole narrative.
- This old wooden door I shot not far from Lucca, in Tuscany, Italy. These shades of colours remind me of the beauty that lies in (almost) everything. Beauty, and art, save. May You Stay Forever Young🍁
- It was a cold evening in Montparnasse, Paris, Jan 2018. I was wandering not far from Amedeo Modigliani old studio, and saw this shot. I mostly (pre)see my shots in bnw, what about you? #bnwphotography #blackandwhite #streetphotography #parisstreetphotography #bnw_passion #bnw_art
- A simple thought. I watch Wendy in her cozy slumber, snoring upon my knees, while I work on some shots. And I strongly feel the bond that exists between humans and animals. We share so much. Her trust, her loyalty, are a humbling reminder of unconditional love #photography #pets #dogs #chihuahua
- I'll post some of my latest works, to show my photograph, my thoughts, my artistic roots and what (pre)occupies my mind. These days I'm reflecting on the role of narrative in photography, and how we can tell elaborate stories with just one shot. MYSFY #art #photography #streetphotography
- I'm a professional photographer. I will post some photos of mine. Thank you for following me, and for your commenting or criticizing my work. Behind every single photo there is time and a stream of life. GP
