even my questions have gone back to that lilting upward intonation without which they are not recognized as questions. currently on second packet of shortbread biscuits, which i no longer call cookies. fighting off a cold and my "paper" is so bad i should dash my head against a pillar—but i am here!
made it to university via 2 airplanes 3 buses and a train only to basically collapse in a pastry shop, probably inevitable. got to hotel on 4th bus without hurling and am now becoming one with bed recovering while beloved roommate acquires her dinner. there’s a castle? i will see it tomorrow i hope!
it’s funny how i used to tear around time zones on 12+ hour flights, dirt camping in the desert for months every winter, alone in sketchy places not speaking the language, whereas now in my late 50s i have half a dodgy flat white and am like sorry i cannot go on :))) simply leave me here to die :)))
