- There’s a stray cat who comes around our house. He was looking skinny, so we’ve been leaving out cat food. - I’m curious why Casey Means actually quit in *year 5* of ENT residency. Like I get burning out and leaving medicine to own a bakery or something, but the stated reason is bc she wanted to treat the “root cause” of disease? What? ENT gotta be top 10 in specialties that cure disease. It’s surgery.

- Each specialty gets 3 things that are “stocks worthy” For ophtho: 1. Fail to remove contacts from intubated patients 2. Any consult without a vision assessment 3. Ophthalmology consult for blurry vision which I cure by putting the patient’s glasses on their face Trust me this will correct behavior
- I still check in on the bad place & post there occasionally. I’m used to people shitting on docs, but these MAHA appts have brought out the worst of humanity. I honestly don’t think it’s safe for physicians over there. These are people who find your address and report you to the medical board
- And the thing is, in the US healthcare system, physicians (and everybody who sees patients) are the ONLY people who actually got into this business to help patients. Every other aspect of US Healthcare is designed to milk your body for as much money as possible without care for you as a person.
- Of course there are some awful doctors out there, but man, there is still at least a small piece of all practicing docs who got into this for the right reasons, & for most of us, it’s a big part, so it really fucking sucks to see people gleefully reject that in favor of wellness influencers and RFKJ
- Amazing. UHC shareholders are suing because after the CEO shooting, the company was “no longer willing” to use “aggressive, anti-consumer tactics” to generate the profits they were promised. A gift from the content gods.
