Yeah, and like I've said elsewhere that's absolutely the correct call if the other option is even a little bit better for Trans folks. And it's part of why I'm going to be working to keep him from being the nominee
But personally? If my two choices come election day are 1 guy who wants to fuck the Jews and option 2 who wants to fuck us just as bad but also to fuck over a bunch of other people, I'm going to very reluctantly vote the former to protect who I can
All while continuing to be loud about the fact that fucking my family over isn't ok
No part of being in that situation is OK. None of it. But I also can't sacrifice other people to avoid how awful it will feel to vote for an antisemite if the outcome for Jews isn't going to be better either way
I don't think this is even a good analogy, any Democrat is 15 standard deviations better on trans rignts than JD Vance or any median Republican...
I'm not going to tell a Trans person how upset they should be with Gavin Newsom
Like, I think you're right. But that's not going to be a persuasive argument, ever
"But that's not going to be a persuasive argument, ever" [...]
How's that not a reasonable argument?
Arguendo it is not *persuasive* (and I agree with you), although I'd love to hear your logic.
You're a reliable voice of reason, appreciate this thread's content. 🕊️
Reasonable and persuasive aren't necessarily coextensive
